Must've been hot in her place. x-3

...the panel & meeting were so cool. Kinda surreal. Also my first Zoom 'sperience, and tbh I was just surprised it worked. o_O
ReplyDeleteSeriously, SHE. IS. Beautiful and talented and a darling angel on a level not even close to equaled by any human ever, presently and throughout history.
ReplyDelete"Black Death" shows what she'd have looked like as Cersei...but dammit, she's still just so adorable and lacking in RBF that I think I'd have been finding myself forgiving Cersei's evilness and then having to question wtf I was doing. xD;
ReplyDeleteINSTINCT--Got the Hindi dub since I still can't legally buy or rent it; the moment that becomes possible, I'm all over it. Gotta know what they were saying. But jfc, I already know Carice should've gotten an Oscar for that. Easy to wind up with >100 screenshots...
ReplyDeleteHoly shit, the power in her performance...the way she so effectively conveys fear and fright and vulnerability...her supremely huggable teensiness...how she cries so hard all her little forehead veins protrude...;; Tour de force indeed.
Lost Girls & Lost Hotels was...pretty depressing, though I suppose it ended on a somewhat hopeful note. Of course Carice’s scenes were the biggest bright spot. ️ ๐ฅบ Alexan...dra, is that her name? I don’t know how to pronounce her surname (Dad-dario or Dee-addario?) Well, her character was rather annoying tbh. Less likable than Nicoline in Instinct. It was slow-moving and felt longer than that movie as well, despite I think being about the same. #LostGirlsAndLoveHotels #CariceVanHouten #AlexandraDaddario [pinned pic on my CvH board]
ReplyDeleteToday: RED LIGHT trailer released/Cannes entry announced: HWHOO-HWHOOOOOOT!
ReplyDeleteOkay, I need to watch this series like, yesterday.
And it’s very surprising that Carice plays the prostitute instead of the soprano!
Screened first two eps of Red Light via Canneseries Live. Wowie-zowie...now of course I need the rest, haaaa. The dialog & subs were miles out of sync for most of it so you couldn’t always tell who was saying what when, which may have fucked with my understanding somewhat. (Was there a Kathleen at Evi's kid's birthday party though? Yay, one of my middle names!) Although now that I think of it, the advantage to that was often that you could really look at the acting rather than reading.
ReplyDeleteBut it felt like Carice may’ve deliberately gone for the challenge of the part furthest from her usual (the obvious natural assumption for her would’ve been the role of Esther.) Inevitably has scenes that make you desperately wish to leap through the screen and be just ever so very [insert loving huggy emoji]
Who could I best relate to? Hm...probably the redhead with the good hair. Which might well predispose one to teacher/professor crushes. x-3
Second paragraph--kinda same case w/ The Affair
DeleteFinally able to finish Red Light.
DeleteThe obvious thing would have been for Carice and Halina to have swapped roles, but they clearly wanted to challenge themselves and play against type. Must've been tough to once again play somebody sooooo unlike herself. Sylv is infinitely more sympathetic, though, for having been played by her than she'd be portrayed by anybody else on the planet...
They emphasized the alarmingly itsy-bitsy teeny-weenie size of her...with the scene where Ingmar force-feeds Sylvia in the car (thought he might find out then that she was still preggers), and Evi realizing the cashmere wasn't purchased for Imana thanks to that "XS" tag. ;o; (Normally I'd be the last to say that somebody looks too thin, but in this one case...I do honestly find it actually frightening...) Oh, how I can't help worrying about that child...<:'-| Whole plot must've taken place right quick 'cause no way was she gonna be able to keep her pregnancy secret for long; baby's got nowhere to hide. Just like irl she gains no weight even in that condition. ;; And while all the smoking is obviously fake, it hurts to see knowing how heavily Carice used to do it...
Noticed a strong doggy theme throughout the season...;D ;D
...No Evi, no. Go evolve into something. If Eric hadn't been a piece o' shite, Veronique could've potentially had a beautiful relationship with him. Much more worthwhile than bar dumbassery. She's a lung yady of class, sophistication, culture, taste, maturity, wisdom...and good hurr, okurr.
Nice try Esther; if she looked any younger you'd think she was underaged.
Reasonably happyish ending--satisfying whether or not they do another season. Almost expected Esther & Sylvia to wind up raising the baby together or something.
Couple good (& funny) Red Light articles came out today.
ReplyDeleteStill glad Caricey gets to stretch her acting chops, yet disappointed that she doesn't get to sing. x'3
Also glad they're doing more for female roles than "mother, virgin, or whore." I mean, I'm the second one, but I don't get looking at people in just those terms and locking them into one of those boxes. o.O
I must rewrite Stricken and give Carmen the ending she deserves--a bff to take care of her and kick her absolutely unbelievable stinking rotten always-cheating pos husband's arse, survival, endless joy, a new man to treat her properly...i.e., talk to her like an All-4-One song (e.g. I Swear, Beautiful As U, I Can Love You Like That, These Arms, Now That We're Together, etc.) and actually live up to that shit. (I've always related every love song...and really most songs...to any favorite characters I could make fit...xD)
ReplyDeleteAnd if Carice could ever use a free-of-charge servant/slave to take care of everything for her so she could be more freed up to do everything she'd like to do, and just try to make as much as possible more convenient for her so she need feel no limits on her possibilities...well, I'd literally always be available for that position. (Or just a full-time Carice-warmer if necessary? xD) *watery-eyed anime face of adoring admiration*

ReplyDeletewe're TWINS
the Elizabeth to my Jessica
(I'm not a Jessica Wakefield, but she's even less of one, so...)
Honestly, the way Dangerous Liaisons is being advertised and the kinda shit being said about it in the marketing…it really sounds like just another show in which I’d have 0 interest…if not for sweet Caricey. But since I’d do anything for her, hopefully I’ll end up enjoying at least the majority of the series.
