*Pokemon: Immensely disappointing. They could do two daily calendars in a row before needing to repeat a single one, but the sample pages shown are ones from this year's. Is it just a reprint? Appalling. Same as the Goosebumps--could've done several years before needing to repeat a cover, but they only did one. Seems the second didn't actually get printed, which is just as well because it unfathomably didn't use the original covers. And no third Yearbook Dogs (too much effort to make?), no second weekly ocean...yuck.

  2. SOOOOO disappointing, the Perkermern sitch. Not really a clear page-a-day choice this time. Always used to automatically get the Workman 365 Dogs. Then they added the Gallery doggos and I alternated between the two for a bit. Lately I tried a few funny random ones (People of Wal*Mart, Chuck Norris...the Pokemon...whatever else...) Somehow the Workman used to feel a bit more impressive or exciting overall, Idk. Maybe because I spent so many years trying to stage unique photos of whatever dogs we had at the time to tape to my detailed entry forms and submit with painstaking care, and unfathomably the only one who ever made it into one was Molly. In the "365 Bad Dogs" wall calendar. I mean yeah, nothing's ever been more fitting. It was the one of her reading the "Miracle Healing Herbs" book with a "bad dog sign #____: dog researches ways to poison cat" caption. Felt a bit like portions of Lucy's novel getting published in the "Don't Let This Happen to You" chapter of the book about how to write one. Now there's a cheaper sense to it if you'd just have to snap a picture and upload it to their site, and you can safely assume the winning image will be another Husky standing in front of a scenic overlook or some shit like that, maybe the kind of action shot Joe would take or just a well-composed portrait...Idk. I can recall so many standout memorable pics from that calendar over the years. A Bedlington with a newspaper on a blue sofa. A Yorkie pushing a mini shopping cart with a pack of soda cans. A Basenji with a cast-iron rooster before a brick backdrop (a kitchen scene I attempted to replicate with Molly.) Of course Chile the pawsome standard red Poodle on the boat, and the jet-black Pood descending the bright red slide--more recently. The extremely well-composed outdoor Easter scene with an apricot Pood from NJ, interestly enough. Probably plenty more if I think upon it forevanev. Should've kept more pages from like, the 90s and earlier 00s. I have the one Lucy-in-Scotland sheet from a daily ILL calendar that was '02 or something like that, saved because I was pretending it was a poster for a musical. And all the more recent saved and/or photographed doggy shots ofc, from Workmans/Galleries. Ah well. Ramble, ramble. Wonder whether Ember would use one... And I really do like the digital Lang I was looking at, but $10 for a dozen wallpaper images that you'd then feel compelled to use all year despite having even better shit for that purpose...like I love it and wanted to get it somehow so it's curious that it's actually sold in that format too, but augh, still imperfect...

  5. SuperbOwl ‘22: Well that sure was close. We all wanted the Bengals but the Rams managed to pull it off at the last minute. Ah well…both teams had excellent color combos, I must say. The vibrant lemon and royal of LA, the bold red-orange of Cincinnati set off against the dark like an Achilles surgeon or my (Achilles-inspired) glazed clay plate that I sadly don’t think I still have…but again oh well, it hadn’t come out as well as intended and we do at least have the colorful pot. Anyway. The commercials and halftime were absolute ass. Even ones that were kinda funny or cute or pretty or might’ve had some potential or whatever, were ineffective as ads and/or just embarrassingly lame. The best ones weren’t really exceptional. Hardly anything good was advertised. And the video of my baby niece in which she appeared to be attempting a twerk was somewhat horrifying, but hopefully just a coincidence. xD She does have rhythm though. That, style, taste, brains, looks—she gets everything from me and she’ll be in great shape.

  7. THE DOCTRINE OF ONE (massively important, must be implemented globally):
For everything (every type/category/activity/whatever), there should only be One Thing that does everything related to it absolutely perfectly. Nobody then needs anything else. Focus all the effort on perfecting the One Thing rather than dividing it amongst multiple wasteful and imperfect ones.
All things should be sold individually--I don't want a package of one flavor/variety, I want one piece of each that's available & desired. Unit not labeled for individual retail sale? You will label it for it, you absolute shitfaced cockmaster of a donkey-raping shiteater and an uncle-fucker! #fuckloadofshit #shitloadoffuck
One of each type of thing is plenty; infinite copy-pasting clones pointlessly making the same goddamn shit over and over are disallowed.
I don't want donation requests from 30-40 charities that almost all cover two basic categories. JUST. ONE. PER. Consolidate. Condense. Unite. Subdivide and channel donations for specific purposes and regions. This principle applies to literally everything.

    1. Really...the world should never have come into being...that would solve everything by having prevented it in the first place. Always the best option. #anounceofprevention Hopefully the apocalypse will arrive sooner rather than later. ^u^ Humans as a species are disgustingly unworthy and undeserving of existence (in both the sense that they suck, and that existence itself likewise sucks and is in fact unacceptably unfair so they shouldn't have to endure it.)
