Aargh. Tried embedding these 7, but of course embed codes don't work. -_-
Assuming G10 gets a sticker book including all (and I do mean all) its own pkmn...hopefully it'd also have all forms of everypoke that has multiple, and everybody who's missing from my combo G1-8+G9 books. Alas the "Epic" one was published afterward and has all the missing ones+additional forms, but it's also got no g10 and repeats the majority of g1-9. =p If G10 got a book that again had the entire dex, that could be 1325 (not even counting the forms.)* Epic book appears to do 8 outlines to a page, but of course you'd ignore those and put 'em in your chosen order. BUT it'd still be 166 pages. Would go by region, just having to rank the remaining 25-60% of each one for after the 40-75% done.
Baffling af. So much missing from g8 & 9, and it actually seems to begin with Zeraora. Pokemon, regional forms/evolutions, other forms...fucking garbage.
*Rumors of it having an unprecedented 300 new pkmn, holy shit. That'd be like g1+g5 combined. Exciting yet concerning--especially given all those 'national dex'-type issues they've had lately. Probably the overall trend would continue toward smaller, and more spaced-out, gens--buuut the 10th one, kinda almost coinciding as closely as they were able to manage with the 30th anniversary...guess that could be a special exception.

ReplyDeleteI wanna try whatever the staff+cast+characters were on for this one--writers, artists/animators, directors, everybody. xD
Gotta be B&C's weirdest/weakest ep. Such a strange one for them.
His replacement voice might actually even be a bit better than his original--probably the sole instance of that. But she acts the least like herself here, and her third VA is all wrong for her. The fake "Robo-Joy" voice sounds more like her.
Much as there is to critique, still plenty of goodness and cuteness. Humor. My notes on it=nearly 2500 words. xD
It was almost as if they wanted to do a Wife Swap: Team Rocket Edition, but it didn't quite follow through.
Cassidy was trying to swipe Jessie's guy so they could form the new trio; she wasn't ditchin' her man. Just wanted to 'rescue' Jimmy, who'd already split from Jess--& of whom she remained quite fond later on. ^~ Jessie only glommed onto Butch because she was feuding with James (and sure, the chance to piss Cassidy off is always worth taking, right?) If the original premise was "both pairs are fighting and thus swap partners," it changed somewhat. We would have needed an actual B&C argument involving more than "they apparently got up on the wrong side of the bed/are in pissy moods," coupled with the dumbass name gag. Cass was more trying to 'save' James than really mad at Butch at all, and the Js were already split. B&C weren't; they were simply in different spots. We didn't see Cass meet up with Butch again while still with James, but she wasn't trying to swap; James would've pretty much become their Meowth in her proposition. The boys were more passive, overwhelmed by their nearly-viewer-level awareness of the episode's insanity. (Cass, at the very least, was on-drugs AF.) Butch seemed to start in a bad, mad-then-sad mood. (Well, after he attracted those bloody twerps anyway. ;p)
Ah, so re: the curse on him (maybe he yanked a Ninetales' tail when he was little or sumn?): Well, it continues to worsen over time. Must've lulled him into a false sense of security for a while before his second episode...
"What's wrong with that Cassidy? That girl's known me forever and still calls me more names than you can find in a baby book..." For one thing, Idk what exactly is wrong with her atm (stage an intervention please), but it should be abundantly plain to you by now that you. Are. Cursed, sir. (Because it's either that or literally everyone is conspiring to torment you this way, at least some of the time. It's not them, it's not the name—it's you, my man.) And the only way to end the running gag is via TLK (not The Lion King*, True Love's Kiss!) That you're so mopey over her upfucking of your name says you care. But once ya smooch, it'll all be over, man. And you'll need that baby book. ;D I like where your mind's going, dude. *slides a copy of Lareina Rule's definitive tome his way* (Even though it bizarrely discludes his name! Well, okay, so it's not 100%--but pretty close.)
ALSO, that was the second time Cass was referred to as "That Girl"—who do they think she is, Marlo Thomas?
Anyway, yeah. The name joke is the obvious result of a curse eventually affecting anyone and everyone addressing him by name. -_- It's not Cass impossibly messing up his name; that'd be some kind of undiagnosed brain condition, and since she gets it right the most, that seems unlikely. Only other option is a conspiracy amongst everyone to torture him (good-naturedly [or otherwise], maybe sometimes semi-intentionally on her part)--but on the pokeplanet, the curse feels far more likely. And 'twas really starting to get to the poor guy. xD;
