"Earwig & the Witch"--was ready to give a big ol' "EW WTF" until the adorable ending actually kinda almost justified the whole thing...? Even though the cool-haired mum still wasn't really part of their weird family/band?
ReplyDeleteAnd boy could you tell it was Ghibli’s first foray into cgi. Looked rudimentary, like a lesser animation studio’s product—save for the highly realistic backgrounds. Acceptable but no Pixar. Main character was kinda ugly/annoying but you could picture her and those creepy yet familiar expressions in their typical style, which resembles beautiful watercolor paintings. All of it would’ve looked so much better as a traditional Ghibli film, a real work of art...
