(Most are awesome [Pluto ones in particular], including AND ESPECIALLY all the exceptional ones I own that aren't there... ^3^ The classic shorts=adorable. ALL are varying degrees of terrific & should be added to D+ forthwith. See comments for ongoing additions.)
Basically, I started by organizing in order to expedite my Disney catch-up...and discovered loads of loveliness in here.
Another 2 dozen shorts I'd like to see added (at least.)
12/14/19: Just watched the "One Day at Disney" stuff and:
-My favorite animal featured was the southern stingray--SUCH A GOOD GIRL, just lying there totally chill on them and then flipping over like she knows the drill. What a well-mannered sea pancake. Now how do you become a Disney attraction maintenance scuba-diver?? I've taken scuba lessons...and I once similarly wondered who maintained the big aquarium at Cabela's...:/
-I liked this...doggy/kitty thing...on the illustrator lady's shelf and wish to see it without the obstructions... (embarrassed to confess it took me 4 1/2 years to realize it's dog versions of the Inside Out characters)

Also: Togo was excellent.
ReplyDeleteAnd Frozen II?
ReplyDelete-Stunningly gorgeous--just, wow, from the moment Elsa rides the Nokk for the first time...new dress, hair down, water horse, ice horse...amazing
-Soundtrack's not as strong as the first (that'd be a real feat), but most of the songs are pretty and a lot easier to appreciate in the context of the story & with the visuals
-Very funny too, especially Kristoff & Olaf
-Stirs up a lotta feels...relatably wrenching ones ;;
-Nothing to equal the Hans twist, plot rather predictable (I had a feeling the fault lay on their dad's side of the family, Elsa would turn out to be the "fifth spirit...") Booful done tho. 8-3
-So Elsa's little fire lizard (AKA BABY DRAGON) and horse (cough not a queen but a Khaleesi cough), reaching up to touch those earth-golem dudes in a rather familiar manner, "you are what you've been seeking all along" (cough Meli cough), Elsa's "happy peaceful ending in the north where she belongs (but is still nearby and visits the kingdom all she wants)"...like...this is correcting GoT?? Daenerys should've realized "omfg wtfh have I done" or "omg what was I about to do," and Jon goes "It's all right, we'll just go live peacefully in the North among the wildlings. But we can still see the people we care about down here sometimes." Or somehow she realizes she no longer truly wants to be queen after all, or it's not meant as her fate--and she winds up with Jon's "happy ending"... Actually at first I was unsure about the ending bc I like Elsa as queen, and handing off the crown to Anna, Idk...but hey, movin' to the woods, bein' a forest ranger and a shield that guards the realms of...well, y'know. It's all pretty cool, can't deny.
-"The things we do for love" (oh c'mon, can you make it any more obvious?)
It's almost like...Frozen 2 is if Sansa didn't totally fucking suck, and Daenerys wound up giving her the blessing to be QitN or even overall queen while she did her thing up north (in the east?)...so she's kinda the QitN, they swapped places...whatever. Anna just sorta looks like a nonshitty Sansa and ofc Elsa=Dany.
DeleteI'll keep making notes for 2020+ additions. Lamp Life is cute. Love the lamp. :3 Still so bittersweet for Woody to have left his old family. ;;
ReplyDeleteJust rewatched Frozen II. Like it more this time. Kind of impossible to match the original exactly but it's a worthy successor. Extremely beautiful indeed.
ReplyDeleteSo Elsa now has beautiful, blissful freedom on her own terms, truly contentedly. Daz noice.
"Gale" also sends bird-shaped messages lickety-split like a raven. ;p
Speaking of ravens, Ahtohallen is comparable to a three-eyed-raven vision. ;p And you've got the people prejudiced against magic-users, their grandpa's mistake..."show yourself," kinda like searching for the true identity of AA & real signs from the LoL...gazing into the unknown...
"The Next Right Thing"--that despair is reminiscent of Mel in her post-Baratheon funk. ;;
FROZEN II: A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE AND WATER AND AIR AND EARTH
Oh yeah, loved Hacksaw. All the classic live-action animal flicks are fun.
ReplyDeleteBonkers: WOW. Practically all I remembered about this one was enjoying it, but for nowhere near as long as the other DC cartoons...like, it came and then just disappeared? Orange bobcat, kinda Chester Cheetah-lookin’, is cop in a wacky Toon Town setting based on Roger Rabbit and with the essence of Animaniacs, Tiny/Looney Tunes, etc.? Classic toony hijinks? Yeah. What I forgot was how much blatant-af Brave Little Toaster influence there was in the toon appliances, cars, and other objects! 8-D That’s a beautiful thing. Probably my favorite thing about it. Other DC shows are also recalled (e.g., Goof Troop!) The “Rubber Room Song” segment featured tons of animated influences. And ofc the show frequently borrows other Disney characters & film/series aesthetics to great effect.

Watching four dozen classic shorts. Delightful. Omg, the scenery. E.g., loved the ranger cabin in "Bearly Awake," and the whole storybook-esque style & coloration of "The Tortoise and the Hare..." And Donald is so relatable. My grandpa didn't like him because, my mom says, "you can't understand him!" xD
ReplyDeleteFavorite Goofy one might've been "How to Swim," but 'tis tough.
Continuing from the 18th...yeah, "Show Yourself" is like a life-encompassing Melisandre anthem...8'} "The Next Right Thing," SO appropriate.

ADDING some more faves from the recent load of great new stuff (see tweet from 4/4/20, 7:32 pm)...minor spoilers...
ReplyDelete-The New Neighbor (Love the depictions of the neighborhood! Such gloriously realistic, detailed art in these shorts!)
-Out of Scale (I want Don's train set like, yesterday! Again with the coziness!)
-All in a Nutshell (Don's nut-shaped nut butter hut! ^w^)
-The Small One (Mowgli sells his ass to Joseph. ;p Another take on this story, like Nestor. Adorable; the immediate recognizability of Don Bluth! And Thurl Ravenscroft!)
-A Tale of Two Critters (kind of like a Milo & Otis/Fox & the Hound but with a bear and raccoon)
-The Boy Who Talked to Badgers (Not your usual "Disney" ending...;; )
-The Straight Story (slow, serene, sweet, sad...way better lawnmower driver than Lucy...not much running amok, no going against traffic on the Boston Post Road or plowing down people's gardens, etc.)
Also Lambert the Sheepish Lion narrated by Sterling Holloway's 'Dumbo' Stork, and all the highly familiar clips from On Ice that were used in the animated Christmas Sing-Along (love recognizing the original context for clips from some previously-unfamiliar shorts that were used in those videos.)
Hello Dolly & Fantastic Mr. Fox are great additions.
ReplyDelete"The Boys" had me singing, dancing, & playing The Sherman Brothers' Songbook on Spotify...HOW two dudes could be such incredible geniuses, we’ll never know!!!!
+The Moon-Spinners!
ReplyDelete+Mickey and the...Sea Lion, actually, I believe
*THE LIBERTY STORY: Mini American history lesson. Scenes from Johnny Tremain+"Ben & Me." Adorbs. What a visual combination of Cinderella, Great Mouse Detective, American Tail, and Peter Pan...Ben Franklin & Thomas Jefferson=Mr. Smee and Captain Hook. TJ's even voiced by the inimitable Hans Conried, whom I continue to recognize all over the place...the other day it was Love American Style...which was a veritable who's-who anyways...so yeah. Sterling "Pooh" Holloway. Super-cute.
ReplyDelete*THE STORY OF THE ANIMATED DRAWING: Fabulous!!! The glorious, mind-blowing history of animation. And oh, the beauty of Fantasia!!! Exquisite.
*Walt & El Grupo: Tale of the South American tour that led to the creation of Saludos Amigos & The Three Caballeros. :}
-And of course Bill Farmer's "A Dog's Life," which is similar to K9-to-5 (which had an incredibly catchy theme song..."K9-to-5, goin' all day long...when you love your job, it feels great to be alive...workin' like a dog, k9-to-5!")
-Bluey
ReplyDelete-Splash
-Captain Sparky vs. the Flying Saucers
-Roger Rabbit: Roller Coaster Rabbit, Trail Mix-Up, Tummy Trouble
-Gigantosaurus
Rewatching Goof Troop:
ReplyDelete-Chainsaw! ^v^
-"Leader of the Pack"--great ep
-Cameos by CNR, "Gopher"; recognizable voices/impressions
-Frequently uses the "instructional video narrator" voice from all those Goofy shorts
-Roscoe cameo!
-BEAUTIFUL PINK GEORGETTE in the single best scene in the entire series (in "A Pizza the Action")
-Okay, show unfairly portrays pretty dogs as yappy meanies.
-pawsome (anthro) undertaker in "Gunfight at the Okie-Doke Corral"
-episodes I remember clearly bc we have them on tape: "Meanwhile Back at the Ramp," "Tub Be Or Not Tub Be" (and "Negaduck" on the "Birth of Negaduck" Darkwing video. Also had/have? one Talespin tape in a pink box, and have a number of Rescue Rangers.)
Rewatching Rescue Rangers:
ReplyDeleteYeah, what a fab show. So funny, and so many references/allusions/connections to other characters/shorts/films, etc. Also so many random Poods and other dogs. xD
Dang captions never spell "pitooey" right...8/ And they misspelled Camembert in the description, ugh.

*more good d+ additions: once upon a snowman, TS of terror, CbtD2 (only the sequel? well they're both funny), Mr. Magoo, Fancy It Yourself
ReplyDelete(coolest aminals @ animal kingdom: rays, [bamboo] sharks, painted doggos [but please no more with the rolling in zebra dung, kthxbai], hyenas, lappet-faced vultures [d'awww XD] & hornbills, etc.)
*rewatching good stuff. mcu=the medfield cinematic universe. they used so many actors so many times--dean jones, suzanne pleshette, kurt russell, hans conried!, ed wynn, john fiedler, joe flynn, buddy hackett, etc. <3 so many fun comedies with such great actors & comedians and ones you notice from one to the next. wow, the shaggy d.a. is better than the original, and THE CAST...omg...also has worley, conway, tayback, ed wynn's son keenan...etc. mr. banks is such a d-bag in the love bug. ;3 now tennessee on the other hand...8''D and mccord in snowball express. xDD home alone 3...really is my favorite. very solid, very funny, very very good soundtrack, many many memorable lines & music cues that have stuck with me such that hearing them again brought me right back in time and were hyper-familiar even though i wouldn't have thought of them on my own because we didn't watch it *thaaaaat* often.
FURTHER GOOD ADDITIONS: PLANES/FIRE+RESCUE
ReplyDeleteGoing back to the Frozen II/GoT correlations...how Arendelle was evacuated in preparation for the flood...symbolizing what Daenerys would've done with civilians before burning a city...and ultimately she's a savior...correcting the fuckery once again. And ugh, the "Olaf flurrying away" scene is severely sad, mon. ;;
I wanna see young Yzma. xD She's so spry and acrobatic not just for a supposedly ancient, decrepit person, but way more so than most young people! And for as hideous as she's made out to be, I can oddly picture a pretty version of her. Probably with dark hair. Her coat as a cat is certainly pretty, with that glossy powder-blue/periwinkle color. Which means she's awesome in pony form. Most people are super-easy to visualize ponified. Hair stays, eye color stays, coat is whatever color is most prominent in their most frequent outfit or is primarily associated with them...few tweaks (eye shape, height/stature, wings or horn, etc.), add a cutie mark (whether it's obvious or takes some creativity), et voila.
ReplyDeleteWould be a pretty color for a mermaid too (kinda like when I mermaidified Mirage & Elke Ekberg & such...loved using the shimmery, icy pastel colors for the tails...unless I was doing mermaids based on fish species, in which case they got those specific colors and patterns. The royal gramma one for instance? *chef's kiss* on that idea.
It's always fun knowing which breeds/species folks'd be, depending which kind of animals you're dealing with. We all have our other forms...canine, feline, equine, piscine, aviary, mythological...dog. Fish/sea critter. Pony (G4! Or realistic horse...) Cat. Bird, bug, reptile/amphibian, other mammal. Plant/fruit/vegetable. Foods. Gem/rock/mineral. Mermaid, fairy, centaur(ette), etc. (Or even genie--think of the emojis. The legless kind that doesn't just look like a human.) Appliance (or object if everything's alive--oy. Think Pixar movies. Toys, monsters, vehicles, etc.! 8D) In many cases it's kinda just your favorite of the group, or the one that'd best represent you.
Occurred to me that as a mermaid I might be kinda like Arista's inverse--bright red hair like Ariel, paired with neon lemon Yellow Tang yellow. Since yellow is the least present color in the group of sisters. I always look for that color and decide to join the group as it (e.g., Orange or Purple Ranger.)
Rewatching movies; on HoND atm. As I got older I better understood why so many people had raging crushes on Clopin. xD Becomes clear when he removes the mask. x3 Plus he's got that righteous bad-boy, rebellious, revolutionary sorta energy. But hey, even ol' Frollo...ain't...bad-lookin'...I'm such an old-man ho. Great character too though. So delightedly cruel yet so self-righteous and proudly pious. The way he (like Gothel) is abusively manipulative yet so persuasive to his charge by blending truth with the hyperboles and outright lies he tells Quasi. Appealing to so many effective senses. And the gargoyles, ah, they're so fab. Such an excellent film.
*MORE GOOD D+ ADDITIONS: Yellow Dog! Anastasia! Big! Dory's Reef Cam (can't wait to check that out!!) Yule logs & sharkies & whatnot...
ReplyDeleteRewatch sessions...
-"The Small One" brings to mind so many feature films here and there--Aladdin, Pinocchio, Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland, etc. Its influence! :D -The Tigger/Piglet/Heffalump movies are cute, but once again WTF IS WITH THE GOPHER ERASURE I AM DISGUSTED. Tigger's family portrait is woefully incomplete. Kessie should've shown up too. Blargh. I mean, Pooh & Piglet make no bones about it to anybody that they're BEST friends, and then the next-main tier is Tigger & Rabbit, followed by Eeyore and Roo/Kanga and Owl and Gopher. -Iron Will is another good dogsledding movie. Bedtime Stories=underrated comedy. -SFR (color version): Yay, another pipe organ and ostrich-riding/racing (GO CLEMENTINE) and flaming o's and suchness. But why build this whole elaborate setup when you're not even sure you're on an island? And why must the ladies be so useless? D; Ah well...oh wait, Bertie's a crackerjack shot?! Well nm then. -Tom & Huck is still good. A Kid in King Arthur's Court, well...no wonder I never watched that one much and didn't remember it...Arthur's lovable, Lord Belasco's actually...um, kinda hot...but some acting ain't, many attempts at humor fall flat or are just plain stupid or gross, etc. -Okay, so I didn't remember Turner & Hooch that well and forgot that this supposed "hilarious comedy" is basically Old Yeller all over again: man hates dog (with good reason tbf), man & dog become besties/partners, dog dies as a result of his heroism, man ends up with dog's pup who's exactly like him. And they pulled the Lady & the Tramp-style-litter thing. -pipe organ count +1: Haunted Mansion--ofc! 8D -If there's one thing sports movies have to teach us, it's that Scandinavians tend to be athletic, arrogant, ridiculously good-looking arseholes. Mmm. No wonder they've always been my type. xD
-Pixar Popcorn: I did wonder when they'd done this, given covid. Sure enough it's just ten very short shorts that're cute and comedic, but no big character or plot development. Which I knew not to expect--most Pixar movies have big colorful groups of characters featuring lots of star-power voice work, and these would've been a bigger deal if they'd actually gone and recorded dialog (aside from Ducky & Bunny. Who are hilarious. XD) "Dory Finding" unfortunately doesn't feature much in the way of other characters; Blenny is the most remarkable one since a) he has a name and b) he belongs to an actual species. I'll truly never understand why so many of the background fish are just random made-up designs, when literally thousands of fabulous fish are ready-made by nature...ready for insertion and identification by ichthyogeeks such as myself. x3 "Dancing With the Cars" was cute. The Incredibles ones had the most detail, especially "Chore Day." Love their photorealistic kitchen/house. Between that and the raccoon, I was very much reminded of The Best Current Show on TV, Mighty Mike. Violet's vacuuming method was great--yup, want her powers for sure. She can lose the bloody headband already, but perhaps she, like Violet Alden, also wears a lot of her namesake color. And her old "hide-behind-hair" 'do was cool; works for "shy" but also mysterious, distant, badass, etc.
ReplyDelete-Very easily the most interesting "extra" feature on D+ is the deleted scene for Lady & the Tramp introducing Boris' original self. OMG. He was like a male Georgette. Cool that he was Lady's neighbor & suitor, but his final pound-puppy self is more likable. xD So glad they kept him in and just changed him. The feature on getting Maurice Chevalier to come out of retirement to sing for AristoCats is fun. x-3 Okay, so the names of Scat Cat's alley gang are Hit Cat, Billy Boss, Peppo, and Shun Gon. L= How'd I just learn that?
-And then there's the original Tangled opening. So hold up! They made Mother Gothel more sympathetic in the film. At first the king is begging her to use the flower and she turns him away repeatedly. As it is, here's what happens: She uses its magic to keep herself young and beautiful. Aside from her flaw being the inability to gracefully accept aging and eventual death, there's nothing really inherently wrong here. The magic seems to be inexhaustible so long as the flower remains in the ground. Her "hoarding" it isn't wrong per se; she's simply not telling anyone else about it, which is surely protecting it, even though she's also not sharing with others who might want/need it. So, whatever. The king gets everybody looking for the damn thing. They believe sufficiently in the legend that in desperate times, they'll go out on a search...but, they've never done this for anyone else before? The king is going to take this miraculous magic and use it all up to save his wife & child--so, it's all going to two royals. He'd never have sent out search parties to try to save some peasant with it. Hm. Anyhoozer...Gothel tries to just take some of Punz's magic hair. It's only when she realizes that cutting kills it that she desperately decides to kidnap the baby princess. Not to defend her kidnapping and then lying to the girl her entire life, but the situation is more complex than it appears when you think about it. And Gothel is one of the more sympathetic villains. After all, Punz had a fucking fantastic life if you look past the fact that she was stolen and held captive and manipulatively lied to. xD The strategy of pretending to be her mother and hoping to keep her from wanting to leave resulted in a relatively lovely existence for her faux-daughter. So, yeah. Not the most straightforward thing there. xD
-Best part of Chicken Little is the Hollywood movie at the end, where the Abby actress looks like a relative of Goldie Pheasant from Rock-A-Doodle. xD
...Oh no. The Finding Dory sticker book calls Hutch the butterflyfish an angelfish. *facepalms all way to moon*
DeleteAnd OMFG...the "new Polly Pockets" that don't deserve to use the name grow ever more tragic...if they do not immediately cease and desist I will fucking sue them for defamation.
~"Wants to be alone, always in a bad mood"--the way they describe Hank is SO RELATABLE. Now with the Tank Gang deleted scene...sure it might've distracted from Dory for a while, but oh lordy, would that have been SO WORTH IT. ;; The post-credits bit was, again, bs. An impossible, noncanonical gag. Dx I know they wanted to wedge the gang in, but they didn't put enough thought into certain aspects of FD. That scene would've been amazing...the interactions among Gill & the gang & Marlin "Dream Crusher" & Nemo...one way or another, I've always assumed the Tank Gang would end up living on the GBR with everybody else. Even if they also did some crazy adventuring, or did so on the way there. I wanted to see them interacting with the other known characters and new ones. We need another sequel and/or series of shorts...x___x
ReplyDelete~Omg, the Incredibles deleted scene where Bob calls Mirage an old lady & a cleaner. xDD x-p The "Snug dies" scenario--ugh yeah, too sad. Violet'd be blaming herself forever for not trying harder to protect the plane. And hey, Frozone and Elsa both saved the day with giant ice walls. Edna's fashion show would've been grand to behold ("I hate this, destroy it.") She's hilarious in both her deleteds. x'0
~All the Cars deleted scenes are real good...esp. the um, absofuckinlutely terrifying graveyard+Oktoberfest haunted house ones? YIKES. Wanna see those fully animated. And they should've included Flo's old friends Rhonda, Laverne, & Sheila (from that great storybook.)
~Blazey from Onward was cute if doofy...now surely my dragon form would be colorful and look something rather like this one in the upcoming Raya...:o
~Dinosaurs--remember it being on TV but not really watching it. Always mixed up w/ Land of the Lost. Like Charlene's fashion sense. Ug-Ug-I'm-Dying-You-Idiot is a much better name than Baby, quite frankly. (Aah, Charlene's sweater in that one! <3 8D She's certainly the least annoying child too.) Richfield is hilarious. Most of the show is. It's like a combo of so many married-couple/family sitcoms. But wth happened with that apocalypse episode? It just ended with no resolution, they doomed their world—but then everything reset offscreen and the next one continued on lightly as if nothing had occurred. The last one was a random episode rather than a finale. But using the actual end of the dinosaurs as the series finale would’ve been too bleak I guess?
~FUCK. Everything in the world is now designed by the same idiot dullards and drones...they even wrecked Super Van City, a thing of magnificent beauty and glory and infinite fun-time. *bellows curses skyward* The "new one" is just that typical big chunks of solid-colored, undetailed, nondescript, wtf-am-I-supposed-to-be-looking-at kind of plastic...none of the care and magic. It's so fucking tragic. I am so insanely grateful I'm not stuck being a kid right now. Parents should always share all the good stuff they grew up with and pass it naturally along, of course, but sadly some of it would now be way harder to get. Just irreplaceable. Thank heavens for photos...
*WTF was I thinking here, that was obviously a Clifford-style illustration rather than a Berenstain one...! D: https://twitter.com/bellatrixkiddo_/status/683912585117331457
ReplyDelete*Ratatouille deleted... Gusteau: What's a corndog? Skinner: Gusteau, babe, you have so much to learn. Inside Out...original angrier Joy was better. xD And revolutionary/protestor/resistor Bing Bong--MY Imagination Park never was and never will be supplanted by any of that "mature" bullshite! The "never-gonna-grow-up" Riley was her best version. And she looked cooler in the storyboards. Anyways. Joy wasn't much changed from the longest one ("Inside-Out Boy!" And title drop. Ha, my Schadenfreude and Ennui and Pride would be hyperactive alongside Anger and Disgust. xD Coco: Best deleted scene is probably the bus escape, but the musical numbers are cool too...Pixar seriously needs to get into the musical game. I’ve said it for so many years, and they clearly would be more than capable. Now how come no other country has a Day of the Dead equivalent? Great concept...
*Brave is one of the weaker Pixars storywise, but everything else about it is so cool that I forgive it and want to see more done with it when the time's right. Goes for most of my faves, especially those that haven't been sequelized/prequelized at all or gotten story-expanding shorts or anything. And as for the discomfort of MU seeming to retcon when Mike & Sully met...I guess we have to believe that Mike was joking because they've seen photos of each other at every age/grade, and the 4th grade was when he started to "get handsome" or whatever, so Sully's been jealous of him since then? Or he was exaggerating because it feels as if they've known each other forever? :/
~Good additions: Muppet Show (so great!!! and SO many awesome and multitalented, theatrical guest stars!! many I'm a huge fan of...and tons of fun songs!! ah!! few wee notes in me notepad by the time we're through w/ it, surely); Book of Life (liked more than Coco...esp loved Xibalba & his romance w/ La Muerte...he's so Discord-like xD); CBtD1
ReplyDelete~Cinderella '97: "Prince Is Giving a Ball" gives a strong, promising start. Animal friends unused. Message of strength and independence, taking action to make your dreams come true--made realistic by the fact that Cindy does need the literal Fairy Godmother to do almost everything for her in the first place. Certain circumstances are necessary; one can't simply make the impossible possible. Ending less dramatic than animated, kind of abrupt; stepfamily literally tells prince where they're hiding her (and what was her intention anyway?) Suddenly he just knows and forces them to open the rest of their home to him--uh, guess he has that right???? :/ Hilariously colorblind casting. Amazing Bernie, epically flawless hair on her & Calliope...hot king, cute/funny "grand duke" (prince's attendant?) Some songs better than others, great overall. Very funny. Pretty green/blue/purple color scheme of ball gowns. Prince has mad foot fetish, was only looking at her feet the whole time and thus can only identify his true love by her shoes. Would've been nice if the stepmother & Lionel could've made a relationship work--she'd have had to genuinely soften up so he wouldn't be so repelled. xD Seemed as if they might be setting up for stepsister redemption (either that or just a jokey "haha you got what you deserved" end for them--and indeed left off with the trio just desperately clawing at the gates ("We love you!") Who knows what'll happen with them, I guess. Cindy's pretty forgiving as a character.
~Y’know, the Supreme Commander was right and really won the debate vs. Toaster. Evidently the Wonderluxe appliances were in the mood to try something new and the Earthlings’ touchy-feely crap got to ‘em. xD
~Wonder whether Violet Parr's gonna call herself UltraViolet...xD
~Omg, random but...the Dallol crater in Ethiopia...crazy alien-looking and sexxxxxyyyy landscape...looks like textures you’d see under a microscope ...think I bleed the color of that acid lake. Also firebugs are mad cool. And secretary birbs...and trilobites, poor widdle cuties...and snuggly tardigrades singin' "I Will Survive" (just been watchin' loads of NatGeo schtuff the past coupla months.)
~"Phoebe & Her Unicorn" comic: Marigold Heavenly (that's it, that's her full name--weird for a white creature though) looks like Iris (Mighty Mike.) 8D It's the female Calvin & Hobbes...much like my (very dark) Poodie-n-me "Happy Comix." Marigold is HELLA relatable. She's like me, Pood, Ulla, Rarity/other unicrons, Georgette, etc., rolled into one. (And the legwarmers, ah!) Totally one of the prettier unicorns I've seen--Lisa Frank and Fantasia ones also being up there.
~'Nother nonDisney thought...what THE FUCK happened to certain of our old cartoon videos like Felix the Cat, Little Lulu, & "Bugs Bunny's Bustin' Out All Over?" They could still be in the VHS drawers in the cellar, but I feel like most and probably all of those became just more casualties of the house's black hole...;
~Monsters at Work: Nothing to go on yet other than that Pixar rarely lets ya down too hard (all right, yes, it's extremely hard when the hope/expectation is sky-high and not met, so let's try not to go all the way there?)--and the Monsters are some of their best work...this is the most exciting one.
ReplyDelete~Mighty Ducks: Don't care that much since I only just saw the movies when they were added to D+, and they're fun but not amazing (I mean, it's kids playing hockey, not dogs playing poker!) The trailer was confusing as to how/why it follows from where they left off. Hopefully it'll make sense.
~Turner & Hooch: Well, they got the right breed anyway. Idk which "Turner" & "Hooch" these're supposed to be; not much to say yet other than that, again, I'd forgotten how much the original is essentially an Old Yeller remake. ;;
~Chip & Dale "Park Life": Aurgh, the cutesy-doodly Flash-cartoony look automatically condemns it to mediocrity at most! A big part of the magic of Walt's shorts is the tender loving care that was clearly poured into every background and character drawing. They ooze coziness and realism and non-generic-ness. So unique, so memorable, so beautiful. This kind has a short shelf life compared with their eternal one. Especially if it goes for the intentionally over-the-top-super-weird-looking, gross-out "Ren & Mickey" thing (blehh, please don't!)
~Clifford: Like Trek, etc., virtually guaranteed not to be even close to what would be a masterpiece of an installment or sequel. And Tom & Jerry? Pfft, never could it live up halfway to THE Tom & Jerry Movie! With Robyn Starling, Aunt Figg, Lickboot, Ferdinand! Just incapable.
~Frasier: Um? Really? One of the all-time great sitcoms, sure, but maybe that's all the more reason to know when to let it alone and enjoy the endless reruns? Where's this gonna take it that took this long to figure out?
~Big Shot: Uh, I guess mildly intriguing?
~Rugrats: Why are they speaking so quickly and without their usual mispronunciations? Did they kinda forget they're eternal babies?? 8-\ Does somebody think so pitifully little of the audience as to imagine they wouldn't know what was being said? And ofc just the same question over and over--why? What can possibly be added? Why with the confounded cgi; are you suddenly incapable of the 2d? Enjoy the original forever but think twice before going, "Hey that was gud, hudurr, let's make moar!"
~Luca: Looks cute. Not a big fan of cartoonier/less realistic art styles, but I guess they can change it up for once. "Black Lagoon creature" kid can disguise himself as human when not wet--okay that's not a bit original but wth, it can still be fun again & I'm even guilty of using the basic concept...some bums do need to quit bummin' ideas off me unauthorized but at the same time there's literally nothing new left under the sun, just slightly different arrangements & applications, so maybe...anyways. Curly redhead girl? Hell yeah. Again the unrealistic style doesn't permit that much Merida comparison, but I'm sensing possible favorite there anyway. So, looks charming. Story of a summer in Italy? Aiight. Cute. Eyebrow dude I could swear was the dad from Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs though. Wonder how much/what kinda undersea stuff there is...I've a bit of an obsession...opportunity for references/cameos/Easter eggs too...? #mynameisluca #iliveonthesecondfloor #iliveupstairsfromyou #yesithinkyouveseenmebefore #alsotheoctopusfromsharktale #isnamedluca #yarr
~MLP "G5" flick: If you must do another pony movie so soon, it could look worse (think less G4 and more the, um, nightmares immediately preceding...) Unsure how to feel toward, uh...Scootalight Sparkle, Flash Sandbar, and...Sisu the dragon-pony? Welp, time'll tell. Never been a fan of the "furry fetlocks," especially on mares, but then that was part of what endeared G4 to me as no prior 80s ponies had been able to do--they were a little too "horsey." G4 just has a more elegant and almost slightly, dare I say, doggy style? Which appealed and just hit the sweet spot. Anyhoo. They do rather look like the kind of cheap knockoffs/fakies I see in catalogs, unfortunately. [https://www.mlpmerch.com/2021/02/possible-g5-style-shown-by-bedding.html?showComment=1614246527785#c4063003425037455631] And it feels like only yesterday I was reacting to the FiM finale, which was a blast. Hell, feels like yesterday I was seeing the Hub preview in Times Square and looking up those interesting-looking characters...little did I know then...`w` And tbh I'd do fun shorts with G4-style background/minor characters, awesome guest voices, ponies who never even made it into the show at all, crossovers, etc., before I so much as considered trying to develop a 5th MLP look. JUST GOT THE DETAILS. Ain't serving that G4 excitement. Looks kiddie, uninspired, basically a cgi w/ the g4 look. Pones be divided by race & gotta be united in bloody friendship again, OH BOY. (Yep, sounds like Raya... #pegasirule) Still very outsized heads though not too grotesquely so for characters...unattractive joints on posable toys...annoying-af friggin ridiculous hugeass doll hair...#g4supremacy
Delete~"new versions of Pet Sematary, Paranormal Activity, Scream" LMAO STFU. Yeah, whatever. Netflix. And you gotta be goddamn fuckin' kiddin' me with..."Rise of the Pink Ladies?" Some shit based on Flashdance and Italian Job? Netflix! Or y'know, whatever! You chuckleheads plainly can't be trusted to do right by my Pink Ladies, Flashdance, or any other icons. :'D
Pretty much every "remake/reboot/reimagining/sequel/prequel/midquel/wtf-ever" takes a great title and does the bare minimum in the name of a non-canonical, disposable "continuation" of some kind, for some reason--or merely hijacks the title and/or general premise/character designs in a vain attempt to sully it. Nothing gets what it should to produce a stunningly brilliant result.
And all the random shit that might be any good and should be on TV with ALL TV? Wait for that ish ON TV, or Netflix or whatnot. On principle not giving CBS/Paramount/any of those chucklefucksticks one red cent.
Got a buncha movies on the IMDb watchlist that're in the "immediately move to top of queue upon home video release" category--Space Jam sequel, Raya, Earwig & the Witch, Wolfwalkers, that goooooddamn "Koochie Koochie Hota Hai" that will never fucking see the light of day (only heard of it thanks to Roadside Romeo, o guilty pleasure o' mine)...plus a couple other second/third-tier-of-interest upcoming D+ series, etc.
Re: this week’s more significant additions...Myth was pretty but minimally informative...Jake Long looks a little intriguing since I was a fan of Juniper Lee & this appears to be the male version (like Polly Pocket & Mighty Max, etc. xD)
Muppet Show was so fun. Swedish Chef! Chicky-boo! (What's the matter with you? You don't act like the other chickens do! You wear a disguise to look like human guys--but you're not a man, you're a Chicky-Boo!) Statler & Waldorf! Sam the Eagle! Janice & the Electric Mayhem (& her great clothes!) Getting to stand right next to Ethel Merman too, lucky. Uncle Deadly! (WHERE THE FUCK did he disappear to at some point, did he join a more respectable theatre troupe?! Missed him though, he was used so well a number of times. E.g, singing "You've Got a Friend" with Vincent Price and the pipe organ [Anne Murray's version still supreme tho], Sheik of Araby, the Piggy skits ["You'll suffer for this, guys"], etc.) The Afghan and her apparent bff, the--well they called her a Poodle, I kinda thought Irish Water Spaniel! :D Apparently the Affie, at least, is Swiss? +D Plus Rowlf & his brown mutt buddy. Ah, what else was most notable? The singing fishy blub-blubs. Flamingo guitar, shadow ostrich (& Mouse Trap mouse?), mushyrooms!, Roger Moore's enemies' neon disguises, the ma-na-ma-na dudes I can't doodle w/o turning into Bellsprouts or Birdo, sawfish, snakes, walrus lol, various fuzzy bouncy honky dancer guys that remind me a little of Alpha Critters, the curly-haired "humans" (ballroom redhead, purple blonde archaeologist, the gypsy-ish folk band lady...), switcheroos' colors, and so on. Foo-Foo!--at some point was made prettier? Same one used in the "Muppet Moments" ep? My imagination? W/e. Cute how sometimes it was a real dog that switched out. I think I'm turning Swedish, I really think so...

**RAYA AND THE LAST DRAGON: Wow. Very good. Better than I expected. DRAGON TALES, DRAGON TALES, IT'S TOTALLY TIME FOR DRAGON TALES. "You wouldn't want to...wake the dragon." Now I'm hella glad of that dragon I picked for the side of my high school class ring. Okay, Sisu is officially going to be the "Drogon" of Elsa, aka Daenerys Targaryen. Because c'mon, duh. Look at her. The animation of her swimming and flying (no wings? Aiight) is gorgeous. (And did I see killifish in the water with her? If so, impressed.) Wondered whether she was singularly pretty or what, but okay, this is a technicolor My Little Pony type of doggy-lion-dragon. Practically straight outta Fantasia, or My World. The hair on Sisu's human form made her look like some of my eLouai girls (Joyce, Starr, Willow, I think...) And it's always funny when someone changes species/form--do they figure out how to work the new body automatically or what? xD Super-rad fight choreography. Namaari & her mum had that sharp Voyd/Cressida hair going on (& her mom's made her look like my eLouai Mirage!) Cat-riding is pretty cool (even if they can't fly/swim.) Tong, very funny. Boun, cute. Not sure what was going on with Little Noi; wtf kinda baby was that? Tuk Tuk--so nice she named him twice. Unlike Tuck. ._. Adorable and incredibly handy.
ReplyDelete*Prom is pretty good primarily for the nostalgia factor.
Moar gud thins: *BABY'S DAY OUT! *Oklahoma! (“Tonight's episode of I Love Lucy is for YOU, Oklahoma!”) *AFV, naturally. *Nights @ the Museum. ^-^ *Island at the Top of the World (another good adventure w/ a fully likable main cast...'specially Josephine & Oomiak, haha...also Third Man on the Mountain. And a buncha aiight 90s movies I hadn't seen—Mark Twain, Squanto, Man of the House, White Fang 2.) -Rio's okay (where's the sequel? Liked that one even more cuzza the frog. Great logo.) -“22 vs. Earth”--22's got the right idea!!! Fuck Earth, fuck humans, fuck being trapped in a disgusting body! *WILD HEARTS CAN'T BE BROKEN was very good. *Legend of the Neverbeast is a memorably good/sad fairy installment, w/ a titular character reminiscent of the Bandersnatch. | PDP: S3—why does Cupcake suddenly look so shite?! She's supposed to have silky hair like a Silky Terrier—HAIR SO HEALTHY IT SHINES! Her lustrous purple hair actually looks so amazing on an HDTV especially. x'-} Now it's got a dry fuzzy/fluffy fur texture, and they made her legs/paws look so disturbingly wrong...WWTTTFFFF. Great Halloween ep though, with all the glowing neon...8-D | Ugh, just can't get over the gorgeous scenery of Sleepy Hollow...so damn perfect. Beautiful & cozy yet simultaneously terrifying. Whole thing is perfect—Crosby, the music, all of it. And the adorable Wind in the Willows paired with it, & just the fabulous beauty of those classic films in general. Such art. | Secrets o' the Zoo s4=mucho 'mingos, snakeyboos, cranes, pangolins, hellbenders, okapis, gazelles, etc...;; I dig the leggy birbs who look like they'd kick the crap outta ya. Like the vicious flaming-o's. x~3 | Cher as Mother Gothel? Hm, I see it, but...Bernadette Peters with black hair is still The Choice. | Best stuff from Kim Possible: Shego+Drakken, Motor Ed, Commodore Puddles, Roachie, Warmonga, fun accented villains, Ron's cute actuary dad, Junior w/ Senior+Shego+Bonnie, some voices again (e.g. Richard Kind, Patrick Warburton, the super-nerd "Snipes" guy (Deezen!), Mary Jo Catlett+Bill Fagerbakke in same ep), Kim's hair/eye color combo (*cough* mine), a dog show episode that showed a smidge more memory of the dog show or two the writers had seen on TV than the average dog show ep (without their actually having the first clue about their purpose or how they work.) Kim's kind of a Sue...but sweet finale...#graduationnostalgia | I used to pose in group shots like Rita & Georgette on my Oliver & Co. lithograph--on one end and glancing backward toward everybody else. Most notable examples being the pics of us in front of big fountains on our first trip to Longwood Gardens (me wearing the green-polka-dotted white tank top+white-polka-dotted green shorts set holding coordinating green+white striped umbreller.) | best mcstuffins shit: piper the pink pood, irish dancer paper doll, wicked king & queen, mr. & mrs. turnip top, ooey gablooey, mole “hil,” camille camel, squeakers & some other bath/aquatic toys, hootsburg, gulpy gators, cop car/other vehicles, soldier dude, electronic toys, wildlife will, peaches pie, serpent sam, the backyard+mobile clinics, etc.
ReplyDeleteAdventures in Wonderland: Why don't I remember ever being aware of its existence...? Weirdly entertaining. Based as much on the books as the film. Tweedles the most different--quintessentially 90s hip-hop dudes. Most episodes fun, good to great, only a few weaker ones. OJ one unaired for obvious reasons, two misnumbered & thus don't play...doesn't add up. Chuckleheaded ninnymuggins. Good Halloween+Xmas+even Valentine's but no Easter, with a rabbit AND hare in main cast? WTF. (Like the Berenstains should have a Halloween special, blargh.) Love the Hare's suits, Caterpillar's claymation stories (lot of repeats but he did seem to be a fan of redheads/curly-reds--the taste jumped out.) Real missed opportunity for introducing lots of other Wonderland characters though. Odd that they kept it so limited, then eventually introduced the Walrus (played by the great Ken Page and looking just like my Smartie-dispenser one!) as a regular. Then a bunch of Duchess-focused eps and well-utilized celeb guest stars...but it was near the end. So many more (esp. the Golden Afternoon flowers, Tulgey Wood critters, doorknob) that would've been cool to see adapted yet again. Ah well. Basically just used the most-loved main characters of the movie--their own versions. Fun details like Alice's zebra cake, Caboodle, fishy art in her room. The [Red] Queen [of Hearts] is hilarious; eps centered around her tended to be great (e.g., the statues, funny bone, etc.) Purple potato pancakes (blue/indigo tater latkes?) sound amazeballs. Love blue potatoes+corn. 8D Series is often very funny, clever with wordplay, and making lots of cool references particularly toward the end. It must've been picking up steam and then abruptly canceled. ("Card 54, where are you?" "Strange and interesting plants!" Etc. etc. etc., lotta good quotes to get.) | On a non-Disney note: Abominable...yeah, cute, emotional, really nice set design, like Yi's boots/socks, Burnish & Duchess & the whopping snakes are very cool...didn't know Yetis could do all that shit...very uncomfortable with surprise evil Merida though, lul. xD; Usually we curly-reds ARE genuine animal lovers, heheh.
DeleteBLUEY SEASON 2: Love learning Australian slang! And is that...a Brittany & a Beagle crushing on each other?? Ahhaha, two family-favorite breeds in wub...x~3 Best episodes: Handstand, Baby Race, Helicopter, See Saw, Circus, Typewriter, Road Trip, Hammerbarn, Fancy Restaurant, Sticky Gecko, Army, Duck Cake, The Quiet Game. Most problematic episodes: “Octopus”--HOW in all of that octofact correction did Chloe's dad not say “I was also wrong about them being tentacles?” Because they ARE arms!! WTF. And in “Rug Island,” I assumed the girls would send Bandit off with the “egg” to return to the neighbor...another serious wtf. Like, okay now you really do have to give it back, it's not yours and your game interrupted his. You're just lucky he had such a good sense of humor/was in a good mood and willing to play along. Anyways I wanna live on Kiwi Rug Island... Some favorite S1 eps=Markets, Calypso, Shadowlands, Mums & Dads, Early Baby (as noted alongside the notes on Mighty Mike ones near beginning of Georgette notebook.) || ADDING THESE COMMENTS WHEN THEY'VE BUILT UP TO ~4096 CHARACTERS WHICH IS BLOGGER'S INCREDIBLY ARBITRARY LIMIT HARHARHAR || Gulliver: Aiight, just light comedy that's almost a parody. Gross & predictable/formulaic yet funny/cute enough to kinda make up for it. Actually my second “date movie” after Kung Fu Panda 2 (the “dinner+movie” @ Menlo.) Jack Black fan, ha. || Muppet Babies: Ehhhh, keep to the original! You didn't need to invent a random penguin to add another girl to the main cast. Janice, for instance--like the rest of the Electric Mayhem--is clearly NOT an adult while these guys are kids. Statler & Waldorf looking the same is more acceptable as a joke. (And not to mention, the dogs...B-| Or any # of other ignored Muppets.) This nanny being so much freakishly taller than S&W is fucked up. Too much bloody apologizing to Fozzie, or else Animal. Some stupid shit; overall...passable. “Scooter'”s voice is outrageously wrong. The Sno-Cone Stop was really cute. "I'll be sure to write once I learn how"--like Tigger's "Be sure to write if you ever learn how." xD Rozzie with the cinnamon-roll ears+nice outfit, okay. Whoa, Sam is once again The Best. YARG! *SQUAWK* Most acceptable. The song about Summer's dead plant was pretty emotional. ;.; Dig the buck-buck-buck-bigocks. || NEXT BEST ADDITIONS: Happiest Millionaire (poor cute frozen gators! xD We who talk to ourselves & break the fourth wall are geniuses. ;] Gotta love Mr. Biddle, Lawless, & Aunt Mary especially.) Gordon Ramsay--(almost) always fun to watch. The Pacifier was cute. || ccfmki.blogspot.com/2018/02/videoslinx.html ! || Best things about Vampirina=Penelope & Oksana's garden with the other carnivorous/omnivorous plants, pumpkins, etc. Reminds me of my beautiful garden in Hunger Games Adventures. :'3 Precious the Pood (in the local “dog show” where like 3 entrants are competing in “walk gracefully and sit still.” Can one cartoon EVER portray an actual dog show with breed standards and function-fitness and all that reality?) Hornadette & Shriekia=Terri+TerryxHSS girls. xD Bridget is such an annoying bitchass whiner, really unworthy of gingerdom...actually most of 'em (Penelope being the most notable exception <3 it's Vee's fault when she makes a gross lyrical suggestion & causes it to immediately happens) can get irritating. ;p Penny deserves her own cozy alcove.
ReplyDeleteDino Ranch: Mediocre at best but the premise speaks to my fondness for the idea of riding animals other than horses. Basically Sheriff Callie x Gigantosaurus (aka Thunderfoot...& they may be going for Jon x Clara. ;p) || PJ Masks is okay. As good as any other superhero show, save for Krypto. ;p So, bit borin'... Need a yellow, orange, and purple animal (maybe pink...white, black...brown, grey?) Cute moths (not lunas though...) Cute robots. Most eps are so similar it's one of those "seen one seen 'em all" type series. Does add more & more characters, mostly villains, as it goes. Most interesting are probably Luna/Motsuki, Octobella/Percival. Interesting how nobody is ever out at night in this city, or looking out the window to see all this shit going on, and these exceedingly unsupervised, unsafe children never sleep. Are they playing games, or meant to be literal superheroes? || ADVENTURES IN BABYSITTING! Whoo! Great movie. Fuck 'em for censoring the bit about Thor though. As if she'd react that way to “weirdo.” The original is exactly how it'd play irl and you know it. || New notes under “Bluffington x Equestria” in MiscellanyInsaney... || Luca was cute, fun, touching. Bit too cartoony to be a favorite...people were very caricatured and lipless, took spills that should've been bloodier and a bigger deal...no real fishies...few little jokes/gags I didn't really care for (bc gross/dumb/wrong/yadda), whatever. Worked out neatly and rather quickly once Alberto revealed his maritime monstrosity. Harry & Hermione ride to Hogwarts while Ron lives with his new father figure...eh, y'know what I mean. Love the uncle in the deep. xD Obviously like Giulietta's hair (and her+Mossimo's home.) Clear reminiscence of TLM. Have to watch the credits to see what happens next, like with Earwig...that's always nice.
DeleteAll the Shark Week/Summer stuff has my sharky-love stoked...of course most of it is about great whites, tigers (rawr!), bulls, etc., and attacks. Do wish it were a lot more general edumacation. (And holy shit, THEY need education...calling a zebra shark a leopard, a Garibaldi a rabbitfish...saying “inflict” when they mean “afflict...” Gotdaimn muddafuckaz.) But the very best bit is about the wondrous notion of my sea-babies joining us on land. (We already have walking kittyfish. And kittyfishes are the greatest of freshwaters, especially plecos. There are just ever so many greats though...fish are second only to dogs for awesomeness/aminal supremacy...just, their glory, man. Their glorious glories. The coral reef & other fishy footage is so ASDFGHMNBVCXAWERTYUILKJ. Plus "fish" encompasses sharks/rays, eels, seahorses/dragons, etc. Inverts claim nudis and other beauties.) Now you've got the amazing walking epaulette and the nurses pulling themselves up onto shore, kinda lookin' like overgrown suckfishies. 8'D Had a soft spot for nurses ever since my chat with a snuggling pair on the floor of an aquarium tank. And oh, my incredible "swim with the sharks and rays" experience in Camden (ew, why couldn't they put it in a nice spot--it doesn't nicen-up a shitehole, just makes it crappy to get to.) And omggg, the way you induce tonic immobility by rubbing a sharky's face/head...8'D
ReplyDeleteYarrr. Hail to the sharkyboos! Cat, leopard, bamboo, carpet, blind, port jackson, horn, saw, angel, zebra, hound/dogfish, lemon & the other coolass requiems, hammer/bonnetheads, threshers, wobbegongs (xD!), deep sea dudes and creeps and other oddballs, ET. AL. All dem big bois. And naturally, my super-fave rays! Bluespotted/marbled ribbontail, spotted eagle, (mangrove/leopard) whip, ocellate river, guitarfish, sawfish, cownose, bat, manta, fiddler, thornback, electric/torpedo, butterfly, sting(aree), skate--ALL the happy-flappy presh lovepuppy sea pancakes.
The Nature Company Guides: Sharks & Rays is one of the best, most beautiful books ever published. (But then, all my shelves are lined with such. And so many beauteous animal/plant/nature guides. Nonfiction on awesome shit rules.) Thanks, BJ's, for having that one.
This whole thing was written perfectly and then somehow, impossibly lost in cutting to the clipboard. Simply because I'm cursed, the evil thing replaced it in seconds with an image I never cut/copied. So. Just example #9999999999999999999999 of utterly impossible things that happen on the daily because the universe's sole purpose in existence is to piss me the everloving holy fuck off. I hope this is everything and similar to how it initially came out. Lesson? When cutting from Notepad, copy instead or make no other slight change until you've done what you were gonna do with it. |
Maybe should start putting at least some of these additions/comments on another entry? This is the relevant one and there doesn't seeeem to be a comment limit, so...guess not. Least for now.
HOLY SHIT, "What the Shark" was exactly what I wanted. 8'D I was EXPLODING. Port Jacksons win Mum of the Year for actually wanting to protect their nifty egg cases rather than eat their kids. :'D (Lemon and others win for relatability/understandability. "I'm sorry kid, you're on your own. The temptation to eat you is just too great. Those Port Jacksons are such weirdos, not wanting to eat their own offspring...") 'Cause it is literally a shark-eat-shark world out there. AND YET, also a shark-snuggle-atop-shark-and-moray-eel-pile-in-cave world, and I CRY from cute. Thanks, whitetip reef sharkies.
DeleteI tawt I taw a tawfish...and I did, I did taw a tawfish...though strangely they neglected to illustrate the difference between it and the sawSHARK, which IS a shark (as opposed to the sawfish who's a ray. :b) I DEMAND RAYFEST NEXT.
The uber-fabulous epaulette (omg 8'D) & gr8 hwhite & thresher again...hammerheads (nuu not my precious stingrays gaiz plz--& you wouldn't even share with the nurse, tsk.) The elephant and wacky wobbegongs. The terrifyingly awesome goblin & frilled & the literally 400-FUCKING-YEAR-OLD Greenland shark (ew somebody get the evil eye parasite off it...) I mean what, the, actual fuck, that is too wild. 'Tis cute though. The sixgill & megamouth & ghost "shark." Such incredibly ancient life forms. The insanity and awesomeness of life in the abyss. I wish to be able to live in a deep-sea-submersible-slash-spaceship to explore these kee-raaaaaazy places. *0*
Also noting: Sand tiger=grey nurse. Yeah, no wonder it looked just like it. x-p
Ahhhh, the adorable pettability of morays and big-eyed blue sharks who rub on yer noggin and eventually oblige when you ask them to bite your chainmail-clad arm...great whites gently and gratefully taking a fish straight from your hand, then accepting the pets on the snoot and face...high-fiving you...everysharky swimmin' on up to us in the aquarium to say hi, gracefully turning and passing by our ledge at the top of the tank...;w; All their wee remora buddies (god this stupid effin' spellcheck knows so few words, wth!)
Mickey's Mixed-Up Adventures, aka s3 of Roadster Racers: Opens with a friggin' Galarian Rapidash. Followed by Lisa's horses (Ginger, Hopscotch, Duchess, etc.) Lotsa fun shit to note in this one. Prince the greyhound, Happy Helpers' vacation house (& normal one.) Visiting India for Benny Lava's nipple-eating mustard holes. Cannibal birds on Thanksgiving (does it count if Cuckoo Loca eats turkey? Or does it need to be your own species, or at least more closely related than a canary-esque cuckoo bird & a turkey?) Awesome holiday cars, especially the jell-o mold and pie and cornucopia. Daisy's “honey>vinegar” line=reference to Cinderella II? Given that she shares her voice actress w/ Anastasia there. Susie+Donald=supreme team (wanted Cuckoo Loca to get her in the lemonade ep. Epic lemonade stands though. And Suze would OF COURSE make the red+green vase that was far and away the most awesome art piece in the class.) Officially declaring her full name Suzette, like Otis' & Sondra's daughter. x-3 Did I already do that with Clifford's pal? Guess she could be Susan (Guess Who), Suzanne (Collins), Suzanna (PiMP Pood, scary story, song, etc.) She deserved to work w/ the chickens on the farm, an' sho' 'nuff. ^^ Cuckoo Carmen=best birb. The handheld Gooey Fish game actually looked kinda rad, like my fishy water ring-toss one that's styled like an electronic game but really a Waterful-type thing. Or a Tiger game. 8'D Yeah, AVGN, I know most of 'em kinda suck, but they look so cool...and visuals are king with me. And ngl, my 101 Dalmatians one is FUN.
ReplyDeleteBetter-looking clubhouse vs. MMC, at least on the outside. Anyways. The koi in the tea garden pond. The general hot dog obsession throughout...surely calling back to Mickey's & Minnie's original meeting. Mick's got quite the ego on him, what with everything being named after and shaped like him. The mobile salon is awesome & the dance ep w/ it was cute. Then things started getting insane even for this toon. The “Waffle House,” pineapple pizza—excellent. Eating stuff that's been all over the ground? Not s'much. Also looking at the crowd shots in most episodes is hilarious. Same figures every time just repeating the same fist-pumping spectator actions ceaselessly. Clearly you're not supposed to focus on them, but 'tis funny to do so. “Pay no attention to those rando clones behind the main cast.” Show needs more diversity. Harajuku, cat cafes, mobile turnstylers that look like collapsed dog tunnels...the weird part of Mickey's house (like why is his desk up on some kinda shelf/platform behind the Mr. Rogers-style tracks? At first thought 'twas an office behind the tracks mais non...) Overall this season is funny & clever, smarter than the previous ones & considerably more so than Clubhouse--but as usual w/ a few lame thins/errors/shite eps here & there. What ain't shite? Goof's house!! And uh, hot dog balloons. :b And then...OMFFFFFFG. The epic undersea hotel room w/ the one real triggerfish IS #214. MY MAGIC NUMBER. Apartment 214. Holy shit, it CANNOT be coincidence. Now how in blazes are Mr. Doozy's great-grandparents POSSIBLY still alive when it feels as if he's supposed to be almost elderly himself? Do they have the lifespans of Greenland sharks?! Chilly Dogs baseball team rocks—great logo, has a coupla girls. Ep where Daisy got the *pet* birb was perdy good...pupper park, her great dress (think that was where it reminded me of the bikes on the cover of Karen's New Bike? 8'D), birdhouses (the bird actually kinda picked the best one.) Plus de unsuckage: giant pretzels. “Caves of wonders” & (Disney) references or tie-ins, generally. Heffalump-lookin' elephants that especially remind me of the NAoWtP family.
Okay, in the “Billy Beagle can't be quiet” episode—BILLY. And PALMER?? The librarian?? We've already alluded to one of my favorite Are You Afraid of the Darks, why not what is pooosssssibly my favorite Beyond Belief segment (if I could ever actually pick one?) *_* Town of Remembrance, natch, and to hell with anybody who doesn't immediately know that. And to make this whole wild 'sperience even more of a trippy fever dream, the fuckin' number 42 came into it someplace (didn't jot down where.) But holy mother of shitbirds, this is nuts.
DeleteAnyways what else...the train's macaron buttons and overall awesomeness, especially of the BOUNCEHOUSE CAR. *claims* The amusement park mascots were kinda cute. King Richard Kind! =D Donald & Daisy are generally the most relatable of the main characters. XD Donny really rules. || Relevant shit in 2/9/18 ccfmki blogspot (“lynx.”) Und ZEN the party-palace Bow Toons arrive & we get an ice cream truck with a strawberry shortcake pop on top. :3 Clarabelle's, Daisy's, & Minnie's skating outfits rocked...Cuckoo Loca deserved better...but then Boing-Boing the balloon doggo & Goofy walkin' Dachsie quadruplets. Aw. Those were the best eps there. Now FUNHOUSE brings...a dragon who's Elliot+Figment+Barney+Joe's dinosaur juice box holder, “Funny” who's Face+The Little House (1952.) Hunh. See where this goes. Rather funny premiere. | T.O.T.S. S2 opens strong with an evil dapple Dachs, flamingo-riding, & dragons. Then we've got star-nosed moles, a pony clearly offsprung from the two Mario Prancer-kart horses, & just more of that smexcellent VideoSmarts-esque bubble font. Let's hope we spend some more time in Freddy's & Pip's excellent room. Especially Fred's half. 8'D 7+8 are probably the weakest eps yet. 'Nother near the middle. Interesting how TOTS deals in immaculately-conceived deliveries, and interspecies adoptions. A cocky peacock man, baby sharks and tapirs and...hyenas or wild dogs or something? The bird=the word, & we were all like whoooaa. Occasional quotes/refs/allusions. And why isn't Freddy just dressing warmly for cold places, have these constant baby-losers learned nothing? Few more weaksauce eps & lies...goddammit, you pick the baby up and dunk it in the water or force it to do whatever, or you skip it! Doesn't matter what it “wants,” as if it really knows ffs...these animals are born so aged. Like ye olde aged parent. Again with the baby-racing & newborn-infant-toddlers driving. o.O Why does everyone forget Freddy can fly? Why can the babies repeatedly open their own crates & escape? Why is a condor identical to a flamingo (so Carson doesn't get to break the “every delivered baby's name must begin with the same letter as its species” rule??) Why do condors have cute kitchens & meerkats great taste in tops? Sorry, Shari Lewis' never-ending song is superior. Yay for ostriches and ice cube sandwiches and cocks. Boo to frustrating stupidity and grammatical errors and characters not getting their shit back (“oh forget it, we just learned that our property doesn't matter & everything is all about t3h b@yb33z.”) Bath books rule tho...& any that survives total submersion must be one...
Behind the Attraction: Yay, more Disney history! ;w; Reminding me of our wonderful vacations and the absolutely fantabulous “Disneyland Fun” Sing-Along...8''D The super-stretched earlobe guy though...man that's disturbingly gross. Just, WHY. What is the point. “Look at me with all this shit danglin' on my ear, I'm so weird and therefore cool.” And y'know what, it doesn't even matter, because other people are the ones that have to look at you. So. Yeah. Ew. 8-/ At least turn the other side toward the camera.
Growing Up Aminal: Cute. Somewhat irritating narration. Wild doggos rule! | The food-related stuff can be interesting...like Gordon and Bear are cool, and a lot of what Gordon tries/makes looks great. Or at least, intriguing. And I'd love to do the adventure/Fear-Factor-type crap with Bear EXCEPT for the consumption of inconceivably disgusting shit. NOPE, I'm bringin' my own. I physically could not do it. And I just cannae abide pleco murder, for instance. That one other survive-with-various-tribes dude was just...so much nope. Ofc hate to see me faves get nommed, even by other faves. XD; | Higglytown Heroes: Some relative cuteness here and there, notable voices, instantly recognizable Hamton's-mom squirrel (“Don't you dare, Wade! People will think we can't afford air conditioning!”) But the counting-to-ten song is a DIRECT FUCKING RIPOFF of the vastly superior VideoSmarts!!! Rage. Like Hugglemonster, one of those basically unremarkable preschool series.(Same with Oso...he's cute, his yellow/teal color scheme is different, but overall...eh. Least he & the backdrops look better than the damn humans. 8-/ They've improved the tv cg, I'll give 'em that. Even though they/everybody oughta quit cheaping out and return to hand-drawn.) Some good opportunities for me to do my normal thing of launching into quotes and lyrics soon when prompted though. Giant peach shoutout. Clown trigger & longnose butterfly in Oso, looked like. Best case name=Dye Another Egg, & the babysitter actually looked great. Improving & crossing over with a much more realistic show toward the tail end. xD But those simplistic bitches didn't even fully submerge the eggs, how tf did they get total uniform coverage? Dey dint know wut dey wuz doin. Dammit, there's an art to Easter eggs which I have mastered and refined. | John Leguizamo=prehistoric creature, apparently. Ugh, cg Garfield...ain't Garfield. “Garfield & Friends” & the specials, that's Garfield. Why wouldn't you try to do live-action versions of the characters, instead of just making them generic and dull with the same names and relative roles? These movies suck. Some familiar-looking animal extras from around the same time tho. And then the Beverly Hills Chihuahua trilogy--oh boy, herald of the end of great dog films. | ROCKETEER: So far...Laurel & Hardy parody. Villain whose voice actor seems to be doing something of a Charles Nelson Reilly impression. I like Ambrose; he's the kinda guy who'd be played by Burl Ives irl. Honey is a parti apricot Poodle (with somewhat awkward facial hair) who must be related to Frenchy. Kit is evidently an aviator-type name. Yay Ed Bighead & green-eyed redheads, the supreme people. Snickerdoodle reminds me of Chiffon. Team Rocket semi-shoutout. | 8/3/21 @ 7:26 PM COMMENT ON “DISNEY QUESTIONNAIRE” ENTRY. Oy vey.
DeleteNANCY S2: This show has kind of a BSC Little sister vibe...little more mature, easily the best songs/singing of the Disney Junior series, great vocabulary expansion & French instruction...seems to be getting funnier as it goes. Some pretty hilarious expressions & reactions actually. Grace=Shannon, with her My Twinn doll & red/yellow scheme & general excellence. Bock-Bock & Silky the Silkie would be BFFs with Fajita and Big Fat. Yes Nance, you're the best mermaid and toy surgeon. Obviously. The road trip one was revealing--Jojo=Josephine, I'd been thinking maybe Johanna or something. Well that's Mum's middle name. They seem to live about 6 hours from Chicago in some direction, which means their ironic Plainfield can't be the NJ one, which is more than twice that. Hm. (Later learn: O, Hio.) So, a pretty quick journey, as it felt; episode could've been double-length maybe. Often it feels as if you can fit so much into one. Her parents though...excusez moi, mais "le chien" (pardon?) should've been going with you from the start, even if your sitter does have Christine Baranski's voice and a Papillon called Jewel, mmkay? Trips require pooches. Really. And every tree and fence post IS exciting when you're on vacation, and racing & singing & dancing around all over everything as a dog in your mind's eye whilst gazing out the windows...yes indeedilee-doo Bob. AW NO WAY, FRENCHY PULLED A GARY. “He only liked me for my shorts!” The chalk mural masterpiece ruined by snow—does this family not own a camera??? WTAFH. Gaping plot hole there. Eunice=fatter Galarian Rapidash/Ponyta with yellow in hair, 'nother copy like the pone from MUA/RR. :/ Season has worst ep of series. We're really losing some steam toward the end. And Nance wtf, curly redheads are supposed to be obstacle course aces. Thus spaketh moi. Gud boi Frenchy ish. Few Lucy vibes and a coupla good laughs right at the end, aannd we're done. | Chicken Squad? Ugh. Main note is the PemCorg named Scout, who just kinda reminded me of Scouty...Blueberry Muffin's uh, wee BC? Always thought maybe BC/Corg cross I think.
DeleteAlaska Aminal Rescue/Secrets of the Zoos: “She's actually not an eel, she's a fish.” DUDE. EELS ARE FISH. How do I know more than you? [It was like how my high school bio teacher didn't know what I meant when I said I wanted to adopt one of the class plecos at the end of the year when he was offering to give away the fish. I actually said “one of the catfish” because I wasn't sure he'd specifically know the word pleco. And he was like, “You mean the pleco?” Oy. Yes, I knew that, but you just implied that you don't know plecos are catfish... Think he even said something about the catfish having already been taken, but a) again, they ARE catfish and b) I don't recall there having been any other kinda catfish in the tank. Maybe corys? Possibly. At any rate I'll never forget how proudly I carried Alan-the-sexyfish down those halls. Yes peasants, gaze in wondrous awe upon the majestic suckfaced cutie.] Gorge scenery. Pleasant viewing except that all these animal-care series constantly have to come back to disgusting stuff and seriously insulting language used to describe them. xD; And like how dare you characterize gr8 bl00 herons as “delicate,” skittish, high-stress, gangly, etc.? These mighty, noble, elegant, powerful birbs will skewer your eyeballs and show YOU who's friggin' “delicate!” Pah. That one fought off an eagle. And why do the best animals (FLAMINGOS) @ the NC zoo get referred to by #?? Offensive. I mean yeah you've got 17 & they're not the easiest to tell apart, but I'd make it my business to name and know them individually. And the awesome human-disemboweling ostriches. And those cutie-patootie pythons, mmkay. And the 'tudinal Li-Mu emus (like at Hillview <3), Australian eels, yellow-&-black corroboree frogs, big ol' huntsman spideys (ladies are GREAT mums but DANGEROUS dates & siblings eat each other XD), giant burrowing cockroaches (awww they're totally wonderful), swift parrots (so you'd have to give them unisex names until you did the surgical sexing?), camels (glad they're not endangered but goddamn, when you compare population numbers of humans vs other animals it's clearer than ever that we really need to start spaying & neutering people left & right 'cause that is some fucked-up bullshit), etc. Not at all surprising that alpacas are camelids. What is surprising is the pronunciation of "hectacre." What happens to the c in "acre," yo? Lotsa funny Australian pronunciations different from 'Muricans & Brits. Lotta tense & sentence-structure errors as well but sadly that's not unusual...8/ One should always name a capybara Arthur, & walk around a zoo with a sea lion fo' sho. “It's not a snake, it's a legless lizard!” “Isn't that what a snake is?” Pretty much but couple key differences (eyelids, ears.) xD HOLY SHIT, reptiles that only have to eat a few times a year are SUCH GODDAMN MOTHERFUCKING LUCKY BITCHES. | Gigantosaurus (gig-en-TOS-er-us): Pretty cute. Where tf are the parents and most other relatives? Totally absent, so where'd the siblings come from? Rocky is the best (species/character/design), and most realistic. Mazu's attitude makes her second-best. Tiny and Bill can be annoying at times. Love the adorable arthropleura, Termy, the carnivorous plants, the giant horseshoe crabs. Ones like Giganto, Patchy, Archie, Cror & Totor, Hagan, Dilo, Iggy, T, etc., add some good color to the mix. The main four have the Hogwarts house colors but only Rocky's is matched to what his would actually probably be. xD I mean, I guess Tiny could be Slytherin. Ravenclaw Mazu & Hufflepuff Bill. They get their elements assigned in the one ep. Cera is still best triceratops though, tcheehee.
ReplyDeleteAnd back to Luca...just hit me what Giulia looks like: Hamish's, Hubert's, & Harris' long-lost quadruplet sister. In the really stylized, cartoony way of that movie. But yup, that's it. || GR8 BARRIER REEF: Magnificent program of extreme beauty. One of the best bits that was a new sight to me was the cutie Stoke's sea snake letting the baby golden trevally follow him around. ;w; Sea snakes are as adorable as land ones. ;3; || “THE PRINCESS COLLECTION—ALL THAT WE DO IS EXCITING AND NEW, WITH TWO KINGDOMS FULL OF FUN! THE PRINCESS COLLECTION!” (Tbh it's probably for the best that none of those Enchanted Tales ever came out since that jingle was likely the best thing 'bout 'em.) || gulper eel upon spying Bob Balaban—er, Ballard, & crew: *pulls inside back in and returns to normal* Oh, do forgive me, my good fellows, I daresay I was unaware I had company...ah, good day to you now, fine chaps... | Minor issue with Finding Dory is how they tried to diversify the palette surgeons so much that ones such as her parents are on the verge of looking unlike their species...yeah, there might tend to be relatively little variance from one fish specimen to another (depending on species), so I get why liberties were taken. Cartoonists often push things as far as they can. Still think they could've gotten sufficient diversity using just the variation that really occurs.
DeleteMira: Raj (& Koo)=easily the best characters. Several cute s2 eps. Pink Sands (Yankee!) Ep 8 pretty good. More-unrealistic white mongoose cousin kinda giving Laila (Roadside Romeo) x Irma the ermine from Flight B4 Xmas (with Essie, Effie Trinket's Poodle form) vibe. Mongooses (mongeese? xD) apparently same weasel, meerkat, otter family...& Zangoose. Nice mobile library. (Back to Nancy for a sec—Nancy Pike [Dawes] & Bree Ramsey? xD)
WHOOPS, that's WILMA the ermine...must've remembered her as Irma because, that's the obvious name for an ermine? xD;
DeleteD+ Day additions:
ReplyDelete-Frozen Fever: Dry banana hippy hat! Forgot how funny this was. Elsa acting like she's been nipping at the Vitameatavegamin and having to be saved by Anna again (damn, you really do owe her) and obliviously birthing tons of snowgies. xD
-Enchanted: Love how Idina is a Disney queen twice over. On first Frozen viewing I predicted that Anna would wind up with Kristoff (won on that one) and Elsa with Hans (oh boy did I lose there.) But that might've been a little too "Enchanted," where the pairs swap because the unrealistic ginger who wanted to marry the guy she just met realized she was wrong, and the other two happened to be fortuitously perfect for each other. And Nathaniel's cute. x3 I'm tellin' ya, he's related to Lawrence from P&tF...
-Olaf Presents: Funnier than anticipated. xD The Little Mermaid, Lion King, & Aladdin were the best. Also Bruni as Pascal, the Hei Hei impression...Marshmallow as the Cave of Wonders... Some misrepresentations for the sake of humor.
-Shorts (Tick Tock Tale--wow, didn't remember that one; so cute. Little Matchgirl--SO. SAD. Nessie, GaH, the others.)
-couple Disney Junior seasons on the watchlist x3
OH YEAH, one downside to Frozen Fever is the shit-shoveling Hans getting snowballed...like yeah sure he'd deserve that, but also soooo much worse, and okay hahaha it's a cartoon so nice gag--BUT we all know for an indisputable fact that Elsa executed that motherfucker. No ifs ands or buts. No way in hell is he just getting shipped home for punishment from his own people. | Love how Max Bialystock and Ulla are both in the Muppets Letters to Santa special. X') Plus Uncle Vernon Santa, I knew it! Classic plots...gotta get to the North Pole, and the whole crazy dysfunctional family gathering at the farmhouse or whatever...:'} | So 1987 was perhaps the most significant year in history...Muppet Family Christmas, Disney Legends award, moi...all born then. Luxo won an Academy Award. :3 “Adventure Through the Walt Disney Archives” was wowy-wow-wow-wow (to ironically quote a Bluth character)--so much magique. It really seems that I blatantly belong in the archives, as well as Lisa Frank HQ, like that's so obviously my kind of place...I'm a natural archivist, organizer, preserver...of course doing exactly what specifically I'm not sure, precisely. :b What're the individual positions and how do you wind up in one? {8-\ | PJM=spooky plants, PDP=a few real fish species+pink manta. (The good shit from recent eps.) | AWDs catch their prey 80% of the time vs. lions @ 20%? Confirmed: Dogs rule & cats drool! Seahorse surgery is coolest surgery. | The enchantress should've paid Gaston a visit...I mean, the beast curse worked on one douchebag...xD
DeleteThe cut-paper Arendelle Castle Yule Log is so prettifully peaceful...! | Back on the GoT/Frozen-ness...Mel & the trolls both seem as if in a standard fairy tale-type story they'd be nearly infallible fonts of ancient wisdom and clear visions, but they wind up being flawed and only partially right. ..and then hold up. How did Mother Gothel know Rapunzel's birthdate and why was she honest about it, of all things? Guess she slipped or didn't feel like picking a day other than the one she happened to know it was, or just didn't expect anything happening on it to be noticeable from the tower. | T.O.T.S. S3 ain't the strongest so far...some real “nonflicts” that could be resolved so much more easily than they are. General stupid impracticality, even for such a highly unrealistic series. x-p Repeating issues/lessons, focusing purely on characters' single primary traits... Nice that they vary the “Bringin' This Baby Home” song each time though. Is double-tapping legal in Keepy-Uppy?? :/ Psh. Lameo record anyway. Haha @ Susan/Susanne the sloth. 'Routing' should rhyme with 'doubting,' dammit. Wesley isn't a warthog saying “swide/slide,” but a Swinub saying “swine.” Yay for floatamingos, ice cube soup, Little Rickys. Like a rocket through this guy we go. Okay, they have the concept of birthdays—but also delivery days. Of babies that have already been born. Many are adopted but most are clearly supposed to be the biological offspring of the parents, so...who or what actually birthed these babies instead? For the storks/birbs to deliver? They just materialize, but the company can tell whose is whose and bring 'em to ya? o.o Egads. The babies are also simultaneously various ages at once. Oh no, another “this baby won't quit doing the same annoying thing constantly and being a selfish attention whore” ep...just slam 'em down where they need to be and do what you gotta do, jfc ffs. Yet more “these crates are so horrifically designed that babies can just pop them open and run away whenever they want,” like EXCUSE me?? We're learning nothing and running outta material for all these series. Makes sense, & not just for preschool shows; you can only do so much, and most of the best everything already exists. E.g., the Berenstains will never be outdone in the hunt for the perfect tree. These moustachioed tamarins got nothin' on 'em...a “loud, musical” tree? One with a view but not “too tall for the baby,” yet you were fine with having the tallest one in the forest before you realized it was taking wind damage. Baby's gonna splat regardless unless it's a sapling. Then we get the “it's not the xyz, it's the memories...” Yeah well, the memories are great BECAUSE of all that shite--it's inseparable, the material stuff matters, just being a happy family doesn't cut it, quit lying, mmkay? | Called to the Wild: Pudelpointer! WOW. Like Moreover. ^^ Gr8r Schwissie (owner had cool hair like a blonde corded Poodle), Labra/Goldendoodles (almost as good as a Pood and still mostly pretty from the Poodness ;), GSP, ACD...any neato ones I missed? That Jodie lady had neato purple hair but we never found out what was wrong with her... | WINNIE THE POOH: A VALENTINE FOR YOU. Awww, how'd we ever miss this one? No Kanga or Roo and it would've been nice for Owl to have swooped in during the end song, but still. :*} Springtime With Roo, too.
ReplyDeletePDP S5: Okay, pull the plug soon. Too Paw Patrol/G2 Littlest Pet Shop now. Goddammit, gigantic heads on tiny bodies suck arse! Two of the all-time best toy lines suffered for that shit the second time around (LPS and In My Pocket.) And “pets”=\=“animals.” (Seriously, a fuckin’ mongoose, panda, monkey, and skunk in the main cast of the second, slightly-inferior-overall LPS cartoon?! Realistically they’d all be cats and dogs.) Pigs in particular should not be touted as pets. They’re livestock, and the ones sold as pets tend to end up abandoned or in sanctuaries because the vast minority of people are incapable of properly caring for one. This design style is so ass you can barely even tell what breeds the characters could be, especially since they’re supposed to be pups (I guess Bingo and Rolly are adults now? Maybe younger pups have bigger heads/smaller bodies? Why am I looking for realism in a series about dogs who zip around the world every damn day by themselves to get random shit for people? Well, nothing can keep me from at least trying to breed-ID…) Like Roxie I suppose is intended as a cocker/field spaniel sort, with a natural tail, mayyyyybeeee…or not…Lolly could be part springer…some are more obvious, and the older ones do tend to be more so… But at any rate. They’re at the “main characters schooling a whole bunch of new ones on how to do what they do” stage, so the series should be nearing the end.
DeleteHave now rewatched all four Wimpy Kids. Had given each a 7/10 except for Dog Days, which gets a 9 for being a particularly fun, relatable, nostalgic snapshot of summertime and childhood. Yep, still feels right. | So far the best '22 addition has been the 80s Top Ten. Absolute delight. An escape to a far, far better time. | Red-crowned crane=China's best aminal because redhead birb? Mayhap. | Important note: The best characters in Moana are HEI HEI (obviously) and Gramma Tala, because she's awesome and her spirit animal is the manta ray and DUDE they're rockin' rad an' shit. | Oh good, the Columbus Zoo names their flamingos. (POOR GEORGE MICHAEL...of Wham...unfamiliar with Arrested Development. First time they had real flamingo trouble and it ended poorly. Pood cry.) I. WANT. A. FLAMINGO. Like a real-real flaming-o. Black vultures are handsome death chickens. #ChickenOfDeath Aw, we had the exaaaact same red carrier with the wavy pattern and “live animals” sticker. Christy got dat good hair. Mallory the flamingo lady—oh boy, another cool redheaded one. And another “M”/”M w/ double-L” redhead. :o Ofc the redheads are the best-looking, I mean...of COURSE. AND ERIN TOO, WHAT IS *WITH* THIS ZOO...!! Now I could potentially get behind the “nipples all over” idea, but there are SO SO SO SO MANY horrible and disgusting and unacceptably illogical bullshit things about bodies that I UTTERLY LOATHE--so of all the shit that should've evolved into something better by now...eh, the all-over nipples would be way down the list. Never even thought of that since I haven't, y'know, dealt with baby mammals having trouble finding 'em. (And I mean, humans should get to just lay small eggs that expand and have like, 3-5-year-olds hatch from 'em.) Toward the end of s5e5 I jotted “QT” on my hand & notebook and I'm trying to figure out what that was referencing...somehow it just got erased overnight.
ReplyDeleteOkay, the other truly excellent D+ addition as of the '22 midway point=50 Shades of Sharks. Obviously the footage was divided between this and "What the Shark." Starts off making you think the whole thing is gonna be the mating rituals and baby sharks (oh Bob help us, nooooo)--but then it pivots. Every bit of footage and every line of narration is gold. *,v,* The whitetips & bamboos with their rough, kinda rapey sexytimes (& the moray so scandalized by what's going on in front of his house that he clamps onto your dick. x-x' And I mean, it is all pretty scandalous. And fascinatory.) Genius filefishies avoiding death by simply holding still (I especially like the Aluterus scriptus aka scribbled filefish.) My amazing precious epaulette babies and pajama catsharks who remind me of royal & zebra plecos. And even my striped talking raphael kittyfish, Ralph. :'} #TheSharkInTheStripedPajamas The crazy ancient sloth-like Greenland just moseying through cold, dark water for hundreds of years like ya do (blind? Half-blind? Paw ting.) Ginormo Bryde's whales and copper sharks at the sardine disco..."the sardine defense" sounds like a chess move...interesting note that Bryde's looks like "Bride's" but sounds like "Brutus." Bearded woebegone wobbegongs. Wrasse shark-washes (which is why Oscar in Shark Tale is a wrasse. Like Dory, named after another species.) Rubbery-looking suction-cup-headed remoras and lounging grey reefs who're more efficient than wolves. Mobula rays and a whale shark (the largest fish in the world, Ginge!) Cutie sand tigers and their delightfully badass intrauterine cannibalism (#EatYourSiblings #OnlyChildrenAreTheLuckiest) Boopable snoots. Tiger sharks nommin' sea turts, great milky-whites nommin' the whale blubs (12-mile trails of blubber? xD When a dead whale is beached, absolutely gather 'round and dynamite it.) Humans need to be more like sharks. I mean, I practically am one. No maternal instincts, will certainly eat babies/children. Human reproduction should be: Hang a purse someplace, let the baby grow in there and birth itself and then just automatically know how to survive. Constantly replace teeth (ours are S H I T. Unacceptabullshit.) And then in the other shark programs so far, there's so much of tigers+gr8 whites being all sweet and friendly and adorable. Just chill and pettable. Curious and boat-breaking occasionally, but presumably sorry about it. Easy to deflect via snoot-boopage when the juvies start getting a bit too curious. | *tune of “TJ Maxx jingle* “PJ Masks, you should go!” Percival=a preshboi. Orticia--Morticia minus M, baby Poison Ivy. Awesome plants. The riders are neat; thought the pets had just evolved. Like Pokemon and dragons and whatnot, they'll only obey once you earn their respect. Eagle-Owl's cool. Catstripe King is like a tiger-hound. Like Liepard. Power Lizard's a big gator. Carly episodes clearly based on Tron, cool neon lights, like a Mario Kart track...that was an okay movie, somewhere between 4-6/10. Pirate Robot be funny, yarr. Show's actually gotten better in its fifth season, who'd-a thunk.
ReplyDeleteHOLY SHIT THE SHARK NOTES. Blacktit reef sharks, mangrove whiprays, and the insane beauty of the crystal-clear waters around the mangroves... Their superiority and cuteness, omfg I squee. The preshness of a bull shark pup, wtf. Sand tigers=“Labradors of the sea,” look ferocious but are docile and sweet...except for the reason they have two babies at a time...two uteri. Nom your little siblings, be the most aggressive and dominant fetus. Booyah. “Most people haven't heard of the Porbeagle.” Because most Beagles are rich. ;b Poor Beagle...;-; Just lost Jacko. Hurts. Anyways, invite the adult and baby aboard. Wrestle. Pet. Hug. Love. Warm sharky. Lol the adult was probably easier to handle. Weedy seadragon with his weedy little voice. Port Jacksons=cool & cute af, sweet spiral egg cases. (Fiddler ray!! <3) “L'eggo my eggo!”--but then he eats his own species, the jerk man. xD Might as well have let the very similar crested hornshark have it. EPAULETTE! *HNNNNNNNGGGGGG* They be mad tough, but do not stress me babies, climate change. I will fucking end you. #indicatorspecies (i.e. if THEY'RE having trouble, something's for sure wrong.) “Why do we have hands? There are many reasons. To pat, hold, cherish, and forfeit all mortal possessions to the epaulette shark.” Gud shark fwen. Lemoniliciousness! Naming great whites and measuring frickin' sharks with frickin' laser beams. Why didn't they tell us what Zombie's deal was--ugh, they'd better soon. She looked so cool. Hope it was a mutation rather than a skin disease. LEOPARDS in La Jolla, Duskies in Isreal, whites in Santa Barbara...1000s of blacktits in FL (hammers can't follow into the shallows, haha)...babes in the NOISERY, and the power plant spa...;w; Baby nurse=dustbuster! ^v^ Shark grabs your pole...why not just let go? ^^' Cuuuute sixgills wanna nom your FlexSeal sub. And how lucky they are—most live out their lives without ever encountering a human. Fuuuuck, Nat Geo needs to learn subject-verb agreement and that collective nouns gets the singular form, grrr. So irritating. Lotsa gruesome cannibalism and shark-on-shark violence. Poor presh wee bonnethead, nuuuu. 8*-| Like the one I petted at the aquarium.
DeleteSalmon sharx, threshers! Trashcan tigers. xD Northern spiny dogfish! :D And the “snot eel” hagfish. *PITOOEY* Oy. >< No hippo for you, bully...now leave the bonnets and each other be...croc noms you... The one who was so uncooperative w/ the camera & refused to give them video. xD Greenland! <3 OMFG they can eat bears, caribou. Holy shiteballs. Longest-lived vertebrate. Sharks gotta put everything in their moufs like babies. x-3 Attempted cage-nommers, successful cage-jumpers. :0 :o xD Boop the snoots, I say. Lemon attached to motor: “I haz fucked up. Halp.” Expensive-af mistake, the one who bit the inflatable boat. ^^; Sharks roll their eyes to protect them, and also at stupid idgits. “Fuck this!” With the nommin's of each udder, and the fuckin' bulls eatin' literally everybody...blacktits! “Yeah let's just all nom one anutta, why not?” Fr, they all eat each other. o.o Albatross, why you no fly away...x_x Reefers. Hammers. Sandbars. Angels and zebras! <33 The latter's juvenile patterns, aahhh! Precious “puffadder shyshark” is a catshark, similar to others... Omg, the GLOWING. Bioluminescence & fluorescence! Neon animals in UV light! SWELL sharks=opposite of lousy! Just keep chummin', just keep chummin' outta yer bucket helmet. Galapagos cutie gets its tracker inserted via boatside surgery. Tiger with camera has always wanted to be a filmmaker and record people--“smile, you're on sharky camera!” Cool Na'vi-looking striped wetsuits. The Maui ones made the non-invasive/disruptive tagging mad difficult though. Thx gaiz. Really cool. 'Kay, tigers are just hella tricky when it comes to fincams. >3 Cookie cutterrrrr!!! They were just having a bake-off and human was one of the required ingredients. ^^” (Also whitey's gotta pay and the payment is baby hands, so...) Glorgeous spotted eagles & southern stingrays. Nurses are never disappointing even when you're trying to find hammerheads. ;} Now the “When Sharks Attack” series is pissing me off, using the shot of the sand tiger over and over just because it looks fearsome, showing it when they say “tiger shark”--no fools, you're talking about the regular tiger, the second-most-dangerous species, not the Labs of the sea! Who edited this shit? Love that lemons have absolutely no sense of personal space. Glomp me! But maybe, consider not eating your own species' kids just because you can? Guess yer gonna. Must've been a Nurse Ratched shark that bit the lady...seriously though, she did inadvertently give it a reason. Poor blacktits. x-3 They're like sugar-rushed kids with a snacc attacc. UGH, this friggin' grammar. “Rarely seen, [Greek scientist] has been looking for this shark...blah blah.” So Yannis is rarely seen? “Each of these share--” Dx Bronze whalers! ^^ Hot damn, orcas be straight-up savages. x0x Separating baby whales from moms and nomming them, killing a shark just to eat a few choice bits. Makos! Dolphin-killas. :x (Dolphins, yeah! They think they're so cute!)
Delete[Also, in the 2nd Feb comment..."majority," obviously. Duh.]
"Light & Magic" was actually really cool. Love these nostalgic documentaries. Not a Star Wars fan--it's all right, but this ups your appreciation and respect. The original trilogy will always be the very best of it and what's most meant when you say SW, ofc. Plus all those other great movies and effects, ahh!! 8D It all just gets so sad when the digital revolution hits. Omg, poor Phil! He was the best guy. Suddenly they've discovered this method that's so much more efficient, but it develops at lightning speed and can soon do everything they need, so there's little for the fabulous model shop to tackle at that point...;; Which sucks because watching the creativity and passion and innovation and awesomeness of all those practical-effect builds, sets, characters, costumes, and animations is just...so freakin' cool. What goes on inside the computer is also amazing, but doesn't look like as much fun to do. It's kinda like how the undeniable convenience of having everything you need delivered comes at the cost of theaters, stores, restaurants, etc., whose closures are deeply saddening. "Advancements" are such double-edged swords. Anyways I'm just glad they still use the model shop stuff sometimes, and hopefully always will. Would've been nice if the two could've coexisted side by side equally. | Down-Unda Zoo: Brush turkeys are cute ketchup-mustard birbs...but they murder palm trees so fuck 'em. Seriously tho, the colorful birdies are fun (e.g. ye olde golden pheasant.) Superb lyrebird—not superb owl--screaming like a baby...very extra bird. YAY EMU! Gabby w/ the very familiar-looking blue/green starfish towel. ADORABLE snakey babes and other reptiles (shingleback is cute too.) | DOWN IN YOU PANTIES WHERE THE PASSION FRUIT GROWS SWEET/IT'S SO DIVINE THAT YOU LOSE YOUR MIND AS IT SWEEPS YOU OFF YOUR FEET/IN YOU PANTY/WITHOUT A WORRY OR A CARE/IT JUST TAKES TWO TO MAKE IT THROUGH/YOUR HEART WILL TAKE YOU THERE

DeleteExplorers!
Fairytale (cute, funny, great depictions of Australian 80s--which was clearly a vastly superior time everywhere)
Unicorse (hifrigginlarious...aaaaannnnd, why should I care?)
Pavlova (laugh-out-loud funny Bandit w/ the "bonjour" & random inappropriate shit in French; dislike edamame tho)
Whale Watching (hahahaha)
Pizza Girls (awesome electric kiddie car tbh, I also loved my Flintstones one but the Barbie convertible? Sweetest ride ever)
Pass the Parcel (like how they matured and embraced Lucky's dad's rules, just wonder how you keep 'em from removing >1 layer at a time; that game's new to me, not a thing here)
Sheepdog (baaaa)
Bedroom (aww...Bluey's temporary new room looked swell though)
Obstacle Course (why not time each individually? and have a "climb back down the ladder" rule? etc...)
Tina
Perfect
Chest (whole season is cute/funny...wanted better explanation of game, but...xD)
Curry Quest
Promises (aw just ride the thing once across and go, that would've been fine! ^^)
Mini Bluey
Magic
Driving (Chili's actually mad good at that game, esp. being a radio announcer...but ahhh sometimes u gotta indulge less & just get done what u need 2...'Omelette''s probably the worst example...)
Born Yesterday (haha the yoga bit)
Ragdoll (visualization of Bluey's awesome lemon-lime ice cream was tres sexy; good one although a bit unfair...one reason I wouldn't want a kid is that forcing a person into the world when they can't agree to it means you're morally responsible for giving them everything and anything they want in perpetuity...indeed nobody asks to be born, and nobody would, but once you're old enough to fully grasp how categorically suckass earthly human existence is, choosing to reproduce is a virtual act of cruelty for 99.9% of people...ahem anyways, cute ep)
Rain
Housework (aka ministry of silly walks)
Omelette
Faceytalk (fuck, muffin is the worst and desperately needs mad spanking, forget fucking time-out...for a sec I thought Aunt Trixie might be an Aussie and Muffin/Socks mixes, but no, Trix+Muff are just diluted grey-blue heelers)
Phones

DeleteTRADIES [New ship in me fleet: Chippy & Cherry.]
STORIES [Indy & the class]
SPACE [Rusty & Jack, our Brittany and two Beagles...plus MacKenzie the born-explorer Border Collie]
GRANNYMOBILE [Hilarious; went from wanting to paddle tf outta Muffin last time I saw her, to her being my hero here. Granny-Pug & that other "customer" could really get your dander up, and Doreen learned her lesson a bit late.]
PUPPETS [The return of Unicorse! Gotta admit it hurt to see him get told he was a puppet, though...]
MUSICAL STATUES [Cute ^^]
ONESIES [Aw, poor Aunt Brandy is unhappily infertile--maybe she'll adopt a cousin for Bluey & Bingo?]
TURTLEBOY [Expected a bit more...like Bingo & the deaf kid crossing paths, deciding Turtleboy would be a shared playground pal or something...guess that's what he wound up being since neither took him & the owner didn't return. Although if I'd lost/misplaced him I WOULD NOT appreciate others playing w/ him, especially if it involved using him as a basketball. 8-\]
DECIDER ["Marone?" Maroon is much more red than purple, for one thing...]
DIRT [Oh for corn's sake, just let Judo play; she's not much harder to clean. Or just get a plastic hose-down-able suit or something. So many obvious "solutions," just kinda unnecessary. Also Judo & her mum aren't recognizable as Chows.]
*NEW FAVORITE ZOO AMINALS: HEIMLICH THE GAG GROUPER & TANKMATE DR. EELINGTON THE GREEN MORAY. Fish and other aquatic critters are so gd presh. They rule. But my painted wolves...no gaiz no, what you DOIN'? I know you're animals, scent is all-important, recycling isn't gross from your perspective like it is (but shouldn't have to be) from ours...it's just, augh...charCUterie, plaish. #kaishmahfaishbaish I'd say they got a defective pack, but then, domestic doggos do the same. Even the most beautiful, elegant, magnificent, sophisticated, graceful creatures on the planet. x.x
Re: 5/30/22--just remembered that Irma was also my WitW ermine's name, DUHR.
