    Me: What do you wish.
Ma: Do brownies count as cake, cookies, or candy? That's what I gave up for Lent.
Me: Jfc, I gave up one specific candy, only bc you insist. They're closest to a cake, but a separate thing; you're good.
    Ma: Pie is good too.
Me: Indeed it is. Unless you declared all forms of sweets, but no loving god would ask you to inflict such torture upon yourself.
Joe: *yelling in the bg, clearly having expected me to rule brownies illegal*
Me: ...he REALLY doesn't want you having brownies, does he?
...no wonder her soda bread is gone already.

  3. No wonder the pizzelles haven't disappeared overnight--they're cookies. xD
And Joe's just accidentally ordered cheeseless pizza. He'd never intentionally buy anything cheeseless. He done cheesed it up with shredded and I pineappled it. Why am I chronicling the kitcheny goings-on under Pokemans? Whoever doth knoweth...

  6. Dear diary,
What happens if you OD on vitamins? Do you become Popeye or something?
Also, Cool Whip is like ice cream but better.
And I miss my Swedish Fishies. How tf long is Lent anyway? I never really paid attention. ^^' Does it last 'til Easter? If so, Jesus Christ that's a long time to have to give shit up. It's already been going a while. He'd better appreciate it.

  8. FINALLY they put the correct instructions on ramen packets so it comes out right...no wonder the noodles never got soft enough just pouring boiling water over ‘em, ya gotta actually boil them in it 😆 🍜
And would it seem I have at last semi-mastered the manual can opener? Perhaps. But why you’d ever wanna do anything manually that can be done electrically/automatically, I shall ne’er know...

  9. Dear Journal,
Ma's got a Lucy-like aversion to F&A putting the baby in daycare (at the private Christian school where she sends her other two?? Didn't know that. Hm. Wonder why. Just don't feel as if it'd be the same 'sperience...:/) "Drop her off here for nothing and you can come see her on the weekends while you're both working at the same time! Why'd you have a baby then?? You're gonna trust a 3-month-old to these random people?! Make do with one of you working or break it up into day and night." Fair question admittedly. I have zero idea why she had any to begin with when she seems pretty disinterested in proper parenting. Too many damn humans; nobody should be having kids just because it seems like "the thing to do" or "a thing people do, right?" And of course they both have to work a lot just to pay for the damn school+daycare, so...circular logic there? `.` She openly gets everything from the dollar store or as free "garbage," or otherwise free...Mom's always haaaated the idea of taking other people's trash... Idk. I see Ma's points and don't necessarily disagree, even though the drive here is longish... "...unfortunately when I hid my half, your half went right along with it!" XD Lucy has quotes and references for everything. EV. ER. Y. THING.

Anyway, too bad there's no Baby-Sitters Club in either location. I should've been the President Mallory Pike of my own...even though I never liked kids all that much...as one I felt so much older, wiser, smarter, and better than the rest. (I mean, I was.) As an adult I'm still all about "kiddie stuff," but I want it all to myself and am extremely protective of it. xD; And selfish... Obviously I can still be a fab and hella-cool, fun, responsible sitter/caretaker, but only ever sat me bros when younger--and we were only ever sat by our grandma & uncle. :p

    Now Ma keeps gifting little Harpsichord things they’ll only use on her once, like holiday dresses. Thinks the photo+memory are worth it, and I’d agree with that sentiment. “Besides it’s not spoiling if it’s from Grandma.” Ha, true dat. Grammy was constantly buying us shit. Literally all the time. I so miss shopping with her all the time too—and NOT just because of the way she’d always offer to pay. ;-;

'Nother reason I wanna be a kid or at least teen forever (as I AM, in every way but numerically?) I was so good at being a student. Taking classes on almost every topic, learning, reading, writing, being all well-rounded and good at nearly everything...but I can't do dull, boring, mundane, one-note adult shit that locks you into one little area and one spot forever, constantly enslaved. Thank Bob for the family business.
