Fave Pokepatterns Vol. II, or Dumb Fabric

Nothin' but Pokemon so far this year! So I dig most of the patterns in this shockingly unexpected set, and had ranked both halves as best I could. There's no clear favorite or top six or anything as in the first set (where Weepinbell won!) But these rock the hardest...

Rest of Johto Fabrix

Here we go with the other half of the Johto patterns (which are overall better than the Kantos and therefore...Idk what to do with 'em. You couldn't pick six, and they only seem to make the shirts. Soooo, I guess giantic custom patchwork pics for potential use as digital wallpaper, binder cover inserts, etc., mayhaps? Idk. We'll see.)
  • Umbreon
  • Houndoom
  • PHANPY!
  • Porygon2
  • Espeon
  • Houndour
  • Suicune (putting up here with the most favorite Pokemon but it's a disappointing pattern; just heads, can't see its full beauty)
  • Pupitar (WTF, NEVER DID I IMAGINE THIS ONE WOULD BE SO HIGH, BUT GODDAMN NEON CACTUS GARDEN)
  • Forretress (red+purple plaid)
  • Corsola (pink+blue+yellow)
  • Qwilfish
  • Sneasel (bc Easter eggs!)
  • Elekid
  • Teddiursa (Combee, cute illustrations)

  • Misdreavus (vewweh scaweh)
  • Steelix
  • Shuckle

  • Yanma
  • Aipom
  • Igglybuff
  • Sunkern
  • Gligar

ranking 52% of Johto fabrics

*drops literally fucking dead*
This cannot be. No. They. Actually.
NO.
Wtfffffffffffffkjhgytfwghesikyottireu\szjkdlfgiturehjwnjkdoifjrn4kotiuhegjaksdjfgk
...So it's an actual full-on miracle that the original 150 fabrics exist in the first place; like, WHAT were the odds, honestly...but I truly believed that the notion of them ever going beyond those most-heavily-merchandised 150 was a ludicrous dream. But as usual, for something to stand a chance of happening, I have to be 100% certain that it will not--for now all of a sudden they email me 52/100 unveiled Johto designs, and I'm like..."These better be available on so much shit besides dress shirts? Or apparel for that matter. I could go for a custom patchwork quilt, perhaps. Or fuckin' patchwork wallpaper/borders." Or I'll just do my usual, make my own whatever and maybe print it if that makes sense. Clearly I gotta do something. Fuck. Just over half are known, and I can tell this gen is in no way as clear-cut as the first. They've lost it. And several highly-ranked ones are well above Pokemon I like more because the designs are so damn good. E.g., Ariados--I like spiders, it's cool, but it's not such a super-fave that I'd have expected its pattern to rank like this. Anyway, by the Ides of April the rest are supposed to be revealed. And that other half includes most of my Big Faves from Johto--Suicune, Umbreon, Houndoom, Phanpy, Porygon2, Espeon, Houndour. Plus Qwilfish, Forretress, Hoppip, Corsola, Magby, Elekid, Steelix, Lanturn, Chinchou......and then there's Misdreavus, Yanma, Sunkern, Skarmory, Shuckle, Dunsparce, etc., etc., etc. Lots of potential to surpass the current favorites.
But at any rate, as this was unforeseeable, my shirt is perfect for what was available at the time.

  • Bayleef (excellent color)
  • Ariados (OMG WTF...too adorable...treehouses...it reminds me of the Berenstain Bears and Winnie the Pooh and the Polly Pocket one...wow)
  • Flaafy (are you fucking kidding me...random neon Alolan Exeggutors thrown into the neon mix for some reason...this one corresponds to Weepinbell in the first set then?)
  • Magcargo (fire-snail paisley, totally turbo)
  • Smoochum (Weird 'mon but I dig its shapely blonde hair+pinkness, and I loooove the 80s/90s "Saved By the Bell" graphics in the pattern)
  • Pineco (A pineapple pinecone. Why are they doing this)
  • Girafarig (Its tail reminds me of a Chain Chomp and it looks good)
  • Mantine (not really a fave pattern but very much a fave Pokemon)
  • Octillery (nice design, high up more bc of the Pokemon itself though)
  • Ledyba (bc Vileplume/rafflesia flowers)
  • Marill (Jfc...Alolan Exeggutor, Corsola, Luvdisc in another "Hawaiian" print)
  • Bellossom (those flowers look cool too...like Limited Too logos and my pink/purple pillow and the green/purple/pink felt one I made)
  • Slugma
  • Xatu
  • Sunflora (van Gogh style, oh they're getting too damn creative on me here)
  • Smeargle (paint splatters, reminds me of Lisa Frank)
  • Natu (disappointing bc it's solid terra-cotta instead of the neon green/yellow/pink+black I expected)
  • Sudowoodo (such a cute 'mon but what a weird design...doodly, includes Bonsly [yay], lots of brick cabins...)
  • Politoed (lily pad umbrella+Poliwags/whirls...cute)
  • Skiploom (colorful)
  • Jumpluff (cute, looks like a little bouncing blueberry with cotton balls attached)
  • Slowking (I are angry shell...literally...'Chelle)
  • Piloswine
  • Delibird
  • Togetic
  • Quilava
  • Meganium
  • Ampharos
  • Mareep
  • Ledian
  • Noctowl
  • Furret
  • Togepi
  • Spinarak
  • Stantler
  • Feraligatr
  • Croconaw
  • Quagsire
  • Azumarill
  • Remoraid (I enjoy Remoraid bc FISH! and it too loves Mantine, and it's nice how they did a Pisces thing here, but they made it kinda fat? xD)
  • Swinub (cute but don't get no simpler'n that)
  • Chikorita
  • Cyndaquil
  • Sentret
  • Blissey
  • Typhlosion
  • Scizor (confusing up close, nice-looking at a distance)
  • Unown (TO KNOW THE UNKNOWN, DOESN'T MEAN THAT MUCH TO ME; TO KNOW THE UNKNOWN, SOME SECRETS ARE JUST MEANT TO BE...)
  • Crobat
  • Hoothoot
  • Totodile
  • Pichu

POKEMON SHIIIIRRRRRT

The Pokepatchwork is in! And the only thing I don't adore about my shirt is that you have to pop the collar to see all the Vulpixes (Vulpix? Vulpices?) I agonized for ages over where to place each fabric, knowing only that the shirt itself would be Weepinbell. There was no way to tell which other piece would allow each Vulpix to be fully visible, since that pattern is particularly spread-out and varied, and also includes the berries and stones...alas that didn't happen, and you do have to unfold it to see most of all of them. As feared, too many stupid berries & stones on the unpopped exterior; they should've flipped it. Doubtful it would've been much better elsewhere, and you'd have been taking the same gamble...probably worse...the outer collar seemed like the best bet. Disappointed in how that fabric was cut and used; obviously you should make every effort to showcase all the actual Pokemon in the pattern as much as possible. Speaking of which, the row with the Ninetales faces really shouldn't have been cut in half, but at least with that one it's basically symmetrical so you can mentally put two halves together. Delighted with the Weepinbell, Vileplume, Victreebel, and Exeggutor sections. Well, Victreebel could be centered too, but again, the leaf that's cut off is clearly visible on the other side. And you get bonus Yanma & Ledyba. :p

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

12/14/19: Just watched the "One Day at Disney" stuff and:

-My favorite animal featured was the southern stingray--SUCH A GOOD GIRL, just lying there totally chill on them and then flipping over like she knows the drill. What a well-mannered sea pancake. Now how do you become a Disney attraction maintenance scuba-diver?? I've taken scuba lessons...and I once similarly wondered who maintained the big aquarium at Cabela's...:/
-I liked this...doggy/kitty thing...on the illustrator lady's shelf and wish to see it without the obstructions... (embarrassed to confess it took me 4 1/2 years to realize it's dog versions of the Inside Out characters)

Also, Forky is frickin' hiLARious asking his questions.
Also, fuck Blogger for changing font sizes to "small, medium, large, humongous" instead of "teeny, small, medium, large." WTF. Thanks a ton.

Pood's Dark Materials/My Dumb Fabric/G8 Pokemon

Just replaced MLP in the DVR with His Dark Materials...*sniff* Pretty cool so far. Never read the books but have enjoyed getting filled in on the backstory and lore, particularly the awesome concept of the daemon. (Yeah yeah yeah, show me talking animals and I'm in, pretty much...)
Okay, so *hoping* that in Pullmanverse my daemon would settle as one of my two favorite types of animal, to which I feel the deepest spiritual connection...then I'd wind up with either a dog or a fish (including rays and sharks as choices...and possibly other aquatic/invertebrate creatures, but I guess, just say tropical fish.) BUT evidently a fish would require you to constantly tow around a tub of water, sooooo...I suppose aquatic or amphibious daemons would actually be rare and somewhat unlucky to have? You'd need to remain near a suitable body/container of water at all times, which could be tricky, heh. And they'd probably need surface to speak to you. So that sort of eliminates tons of options, buuuut, anything that helps narrow down is okay, right? As I was figuring the other day (at the bottom)...I could crossover and have a fishy Patronus, right?? ^^' Aaaanyway.
Obviously my ideal situation then would be a dog of a favorite breed (preferably Saluki, the eternal easy #1.) Apparently a lot of servants have dog daemons--oooh, how stereotypical, because doggos are obedient and subservient, right? Harr. They're also the most diverse species on any planet. ;p Clearly I identify with the more independent and feline-esque of canines--ones sophisticated, intelligent, elegant, graceful, dignified. Who choose to bestow their undying loyalty and infinite devotion upon only the worthiest. Whose love is ultra-special because it is earned rather than automatically given. ;p
So, yeah. I dig this concept. It's basically your classic dream talking animal companion, only it's an actual inherent part of you at the same time......
Evidently people don't always get their preferences (e.g., somebody who wants, say, a lion, and gets, say, a Poodle.) Wait, say WHAT now?!?! A magnificent, glorious, noble, brilliant, athletic, fuckin' badass Caniche would be a tremendous honor and thrill...! The fiercest and most fearsome Pood laughs at the ridiculous notion of disappointment. That's a hot one.

Very very surprised to see that daemons are usually of the opposite sex from their people. Same-sex ones can indicate that the person is possessed of "second sight," or is homosexual? xD Well, the former could certainly apply if that were my case. Now, show me all the folks with elephants, giraffes, hippos, rhinos...how convenient that must be. x-3 How do they stick near enough to you? What about those with heavy, slow daemons they can't carry or drag if they have to run from danger? Wouldn't such people be relatively easy to kill (especially since killing a daemon kills the person?) #pondering

11.7.20~Just introduced: Glastrier, Spectrier, & Calyrex. Legendary shadow (Luna!) & ice horses plus their rider...I mean, cool...I'm saying "'Glahs-tree-ay' et 'Speck-tree-ay,'" mmmkay. It was basically a Regice dog. c-x Probably the best design I came up with, but not the only faceted canine, hee...

11.19 intros: Regieleki (noice color), Galarian Legendary Birds (scary Articuno reminding me of the Rock-A-Doodle owls like Malamar...chicken Zapdos...badass dark-fire Moltres...)
